Fantasy me wafts around elegantly in it but I’m not sure if it makes real me look a bit dumpy?

It's a bit mumsy I'm afraid.

bonfireheart · 21/08/2021 09:59

You have a nice figure, but the skirt is too "straight" if that makes sense.

Papergirl1968 · 21/08/2021 10:28

I really like it.

BuckyBarnesArm · 21/08/2021 10:30

I like it too, though it's quite hard to see how it sits with the top you have on due to the angle of the photo. Would it work better with a more fitted top? What footwear you wear with it would make a difference to the overall look of it too.

Bluntness100 · 21/08/2021 10:31

I also like it and I don’t normally with these kinds of skirts, it suits your body shape and isn’t too much material.

Howshouldibehave · 21/08/2021 10:32

I’m not keen-it looks like someone my ex’s mum would have worn. She was a big fan of BHS. You look like you have a great figure, I’d go for something different.

indecisivewoman81 · 21/08/2021 10:32

I really like it; I'd wear it

MrsBertBibby · 21/08/2021 10:34

Gorgeous! And not dumpy in that shot, at all.

Why is "mumsy" used here as a negative? It really fucks me off.

Alternista · 21/08/2021 10:35

I think the style is potentially ok but that style in that pattern looks quite dowdy, sorry OP.

Goodtimesx · 21/08/2021 10:35

It’s ok for work.

Miseryisabutterfly · 21/08/2021 10:35

I’m not totally sold on the print but I like the colours and think the style is gorgeous on you. You look slim and chic, not dumpy at all.

Goodtimesx · 21/08/2021 10:35

Well my work, not sure about yours.

Wrong post - sorry!

sesamebreadsticks · 21/08/2021 10:45

For what it's worth I love it! Hangs well, great pattern, not one bit dumpy IMO. (44 year old like to think non-"Mumsy" person - whatever that means) Grin

EmergencyPoncho · 21/08/2021 10:59

I like it, I don't see as BHS style. Nice with white trainers and a denim or leather jacket if you are not talking work.

Quitelikeacatslife · 21/08/2021 12:35

I'd say yes but is that a tucked in blouse top? I think you have to be careful to wear a trendy t shirt or fitted scoop neck t shirt top. If you wear a blouse it could look "BHS"

Dozer · 21/08/2021 12:36

Dislike. Unflattering.

MancMum2000 · 21/08/2021 12:39

Very dowdy in my opinion, sorry. The top is a lovely colour though.

Camrette · 21/08/2021 12:54

Quite mixed opinions!
I’ll try it with a few different tops and shoes before making a decision (the top I have on in the picture is a v neck vest which was tucked in fairly tightly but worked it’s way loose)

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/08/2021 13:03

I like it but not with that top. Ankle boots/biker jacket, or a slouchy grey v neck cardigan over a white or black cami.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 21/08/2021 14:13

I can't see it properly in your pic, but I love the colours and print. Is it pleated? Lovely to see a print that's not floral!

JohnStonesMissus · 21/08/2021 14:29

I like the pattern but not the style, I think the pleats make it look a bit mumsy...sorry.

Iamthewombat · 21/08/2021 14:43

This is what I joined the thread to say. No to the tucked in top!
Budsaway · 21/08/2021 14:45

I like the style and think it suits you but not the pattern.
