Fantasy me wafts around elegantly in it but I’m not sure if it makes real me look a bit dumpy?

Another vote for 'the skirt is fine but the top (as it appears in the photo) is wrong'. It needs a fitted T shirt to avoid looking dowdy.

Personally I think white trainers with a skirt/dress for anyone over 30 have had their day. They have become such a cliché. I'd style it with fugly sandals or coloured trainers in the summer and boots in winter.

The skirts fine but the top is a dowdy shape and colour. More fitted shorter top required

AnneKipankitoo · 21/08/2021 16:15

Can’t tell.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 21/08/2021 16:34

It's a BHS skirt for sure or even a C&A one BUT that's what's in at the moment so I think it looks ok but needs a fitted Tee.

ArabeI · 21/08/2021 16:40

I think it's fine. I don't, personally care for the pattern, but the colour of the top matches very well with it, though I'd agree with the suggestion of possibly a fitted top.

Quitelikeacatslife · 21/08/2021 19:35

As it is an almost autumn day here! I'd stay I do like skirts like that with a chunky jumper, tights and boots (just jealous because I'm too chunky to wear that)

ArabeI · 21/08/2021 19:40

Where is the skirt from @Camrette

CirqueDeMorgue · 21/08/2021 19:43

Let's face it, if you have a nice figure, which it looks like you do, most things are going to look ok. I don't agree that it looks 'mumsy.'

It’s a next skirt (via ebay). Not quite bhs or c&a but perhaps not far off Grin

Tbh it’s nice, not fabulous but it fits you well, your not dumpy! I’d wear tan Wedges with it. I think it's the top that is not working with it.

MoltonSilver · 21/08/2021 20:29

It's not great.

Camrette · 21/08/2021 20:39

I’ve now tried it on with a black cami (Looked really drab imo), a white wide strapped basic vest and a fitted white scoop neck tshirt. The white tops looked ok but I don’t think any better than the blue. Tried not wearing the tops tucked in as suggested and it looked bloody awful, had no waist and was totally shapeless. Far more frumpy like that to me (but I know nothing about fashion). Similarly tried on with a chunky jumper and looked really bag lady and shapeless. I’ve seen that look on a model and liked it but I am far too short!
Looked ok with either denim jacket and sandals or white trainers (sorry whoever said they hated that look!) or leather jacket and dms but only ok.
It doesn’t bother me whether something is fashionable or not or whether other people like the colour etc but I do want my clothes to suit me and look good on me. When I first tried it on i thought it looked great but saw myself unposed a bit later and thought I looked a bit squat Grin As I’m still not sure and the majority of responses seemed to be a no I think it will go back on eBay.
Thanks for taking the time to respond everyone

Thanks, Camrette. I just wondered where it was from as I quite like the style.

It sounds like the blue top is the better option so far.
