Which rain jacket is the best for me

Currently looking for a cool and funky raincoat for a school run etc.
I am looking on these ones but not sure which one looks the one.
Budget £35 max.
I’m 49 but young in the heart and head.
I don’t want a jacket for 80 years old lady as some jackets can make you look like that.
I’m intrigued by the pink one for now..but feel free to tell me which looks good.

Thanks everyone.
I went to TK max, Next and H&M yesterday but nothing I like there.
After I went to see the khaki to Sainsbury’s from my first post so I bought it but not entirely sure I will keep it as it’s not waterproof. I just liked the detailing, I really do but the material is just soft cotton.

It’s more like a shaket really, so wasted money as I acted on the whim and I was in a rush.

That Stradivarius one is nice, Pinkcadillac

A rain jacket is not really going to look cool. I think the best you can hope for is classic and practical in a a colour that works for you. Avoid old lady colours such as sage, beige and pale pink.

In the end I chose the light blue one from Boohoo. It fit great. Thanks all for your input.

The second one looks like one my teen daughter had for school last year. Rubber coated. £40 ish from Peacocks and properly waterproof. Bunged it in the wash if it looked grubby and it came out pristine and still repels water.

I just bought this one in red, it’s very flattering and looks nice, and down to £35

I tried it on and it was an immediate “yes”, I sent a few Joukes and Seasalt back for being too baggy and depressing Grin

Out of your 3, the army green one is nicest IMO

MarleneDietrichsSmile · 25/08/2021 13:56

Ah just see you are done and dusted already

I must say I really like the pink one with the grey lines.
I don’t think it’s frumpy or for an elderly ladies.
I am similar age to you and I dress youngish style and I would definitely buy the pink one. Saying that I might actually order one to see how it looks- it does look rather really pretty and different jacket in comparison to the plain ones.
I don’t like the pale blue ones, them are really a bit aging.
The green one is ok too.

@tallwhitecat
Hello,
I do like the pink one too, I actually spotted someone wearing it yesterday, it looked indeed really good and stylish.
I got the pale blue one from boohoo but not so keen after I have seen the pink one in person.

I must admit @Beachhutsandsand if you want waterproof you are shopping in the wrong places. I do not drive I average 6 miles a day - school run / shopping. My coats and rain coats are from outdoor shops - just select filter for waterproof - trespass and regatta are good. Longline is better than bum skimming it walking lots.
If I’m are going somewhere nice it would be as a family and h drives so I have a couple of wool coats.

Here’s an example blacks
