Do teenagers wear Superdry?

DA will be 13 next month - going into Y8.
He’s a total country bumpkin, not at all street wise. He seems much younger than 13, but is very tall!
He’s green out if his favourite hoody and has asked for a replacement. It’s an orange sweatshirt with shaggy fleece lining that I got from Land’s End last year. They don’t do this colour anymore, abs fed grien out of their largest size anyway.

There is a very similar one in Superdry. It has a logo on. The only people I’ve consciously seen in Superdry are middle aged men! Do, do teenagers wear Superdry, or will he look like he’s pinched his dad’s jumper?

Totally depends where you live. Used to be very in where we are but way out now.

HeartShapedBalloon · 18/08/2021 13:48

I don't think the kids do wear them anymore! Jack Wills (Willis??) seem to be the name I see mostly at the moment.

MrsPnut · 18/08/2021 13:49

My teenager has a couple of Superdry sweatshirts but only the ones with a small logo not the massive Superdry across the front.

She only wants clothes with a small logo in general (but they need to be logoed) but that is just probably her.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 18/08/2021 13:50

Superdry tends to be seen on overweight 50 something men here Hmm

BeetleyCarapace · 18/08/2021 13:51

Hm

Round here Superdry is a bit '10 years ago'.

BeetleyCarapace · 18/08/2021 13:52

I hope the PRs at Superdry don't see this thread, it's an instant share-price killer Grin

TooWicked · 18/08/2021 13:53

Try Hollister instead.

Areyouseriousrightnow · 18/08/2021 13:55

They have recently relaunched the brand and gotten rid of all the naff faux Japanese stuff that all the dads were quite into and pivoted more towards a younger style again. I was in there recently and thought it looked quite cool again after a long period of really not looking cool. Whether teenagers are into it though im not sure!!!

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 18/08/2021 13:56

My dd won’t wear Superdry.

ElvisPresleyHadABaby · 18/08/2021 14:14

Not really, try Hollister, Jack Wills or North Face.

user1494055864 · 18/08/2021 14:22

I think superdry hoodies got taken over by trying-too-hard-to-be-trendy school run mums a few years ago! Me included lol.
I'd say grey or white Champion sports sweatshirt/hoodie, but v.v.expensive.

Delphigirl · 18/08/2021 14:23

No jack will superdry and HoL lister are social death around here

North face, Levi’s, vans, stussy for teenage boys

PastelFlowerJelly · 18/08/2021 14:24

Hate to say this but Superdry was never cool. When the brand came out I was barely out my teens and studying fashion in London. Nobody in our course wore Superdry (it was all American Apparel, Topshop & Urban Outfitters back then). These days I still see Superdry stores and baffled what keeps them in business.

I think for teen boys you can't go wrong with Uniqlo, Zara, Abercrombie/Hollister, Nike, Palace or Supreme. But to be honest, boys don't tend to judge anyone on their clothing so of course Superdry or any brand would be fine.

Interesting, back to 90s brands then, makes sense I guess!

Mine wouldn’t
I agree that the 90s brands seem popular and anime stuff
Uniqlo is pretty good too and cheap

HazyDaisy123456 · 18/08/2021 14:28

I think it depends on the teen, their friendship group, where they live and brand or fashion awareness.

Neither of my two would wear Superdry, Hollister or Jack Wills.

DS 17 has got a NorthFace one and a Champion one he wears to death and DD 16 has two Champion ones she loves but she has recently bought two unbranded mens ones from TK Max.

I would ask whether they have preference for a particular brand or colour and check the size as you don’t want to lay out for something that won’t be worn.

VienneseWhirligig · 18/08/2021 14:41

DS is 21 and still wears Superdry, he also likes Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Saltrock, and has a couple of Calvin Klein bits. We get them all from outlet stores though, wouldn't pay full price.

rookiemere · 18/08/2021 14:47

DS is 15 and the current brand of choice is Niice ( probably because nobody over the age of 15 knows how to pronounce it)

stripedbananas · 18/08/2021 14:48

Not really all the Dads round here wear Superdry so it's a complete no no for teens

MaMelon · 18/08/2021 14:49

No, Superdry is mainly out, although DS2 (14) has a hoodie he'll wear occasionally. He wouldn't wear Hollister or Jack Wills, although he older brother would have when he was that age (he's 24 now).

He's currently going through a horrible phase of black trackies from Adidas or Under Armour, and tops from North Face, Napapijri or Nike. I am hoping it passes soon. When he's not wearing his Ned from Nedsville outfits he's in Zara or Pull&Bear.

stripedbananas · 18/08/2021 14:49

Go for Northface, Nike, Adidas and you can't go to wrong with coats bags shoes

DonLewis · 18/08/2021 14:50

My son has a couple of bits from super dry (16) but be warned, they only do a standard leg length and it isn't very long.

stripedbananas · 18/08/2021 14:51

My DS doesn't like anything branded which makes thing more difficult other than Nike trainers and Adidas bags
