From the Kate Middleton era. Will they ever be stylish again??

I got rid of some recently, they just didn’t seem flattering and I couldn’t think of anything I would wear them with

Knittingupastorm · 17/08/2021 15:50

Of course they’ll be stylish again at some point, everything is in the end. You may not personally ever want to wear them again though.

BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand · 17/08/2021 15:57

Everything comes back into fashion at some point. Particularly something relatively classic like nude heels. Just give it a few years....

Bluntness100 · 17/08/2021 15:58

Yeah I’ve these too the lk bennet ones as well, I’m also unsure, can’t imagine wearing them again, unsure about giving away sigh

DukeOfEarlGrey · 17/08/2021 16:10

I went off mine and gave to the charity shop. They will come back eventually but my willingness to wear heels won’t, particularly after eighteen months of blissful wfh comfort in trainers and Ugg boots.

lindyloo57 · 17/08/2021 16:44

I have a pair still in the box never worn, I might sell on ebay.

theworldsbiggestcrocodile · 17/08/2021 16:47

Keep. They will come back around just because they go with a lot of things...

SarahBellam · 17/08/2021 17:20

I think heels have had their day. My teenage daughter and her friends think they’re ridiculous looking things and when I was out on Saturday evening I noticed heel were very much an ‘older woman’ look. Most people were wearing Docs, loafers, or trainers. The might come back into fashion but I can’t imagine for one minute wearing heels again. It seems bonkers that we ever did.

Josette77 · 17/08/2021 17:26

When did heals go out of fashion? I don't wear them every day but I also don't get dressed up and throw on doc martens. And I wouldn't take my style cues as a 40 yo woman from teens.

lindyloo57 · 17/08/2021 17:44

I don't wear heel anymore, but at a funeral last July both daughters age around thirty were wearing heels. So I don't think flats are for everyone.

Agree, heels will always have a place, with corporate dress/suits or with evening attire, no ones going to be chucking on trainers or biker boots to wear with formal clothing.

And I’d certainly wear heels if going out somewhere Ie nice jeans and heeled boots or sandals to go to dinner or whatever. As does my 24 year old daughter and her cohorts

I’d personally also not be using a teen as my style guru.

allycat4 · 17/08/2021 18:25

Thanks everyone. Still pondering! I do wear heels for work but never nudes anymore - these ones especially look dated with their narrow heel.

BusterGonad · 17/08/2021 18:45

Get rid. Life is too short to hang on to things you don't wear.

Sheerheight · 17/08/2021 19:16

I don't think heels are out. Have seen a lot of stilettos being worn recently.

Bluntness100 · 17/08/2021 20:34

Why don’t you wait awhile, till everything gets back to normal, and folks are properly going out again, then decide.
Iksu · 18/08/2021 20:15

Oh god, I hadn’t even realised they weren’t a thing anymore, I’m so hopeless! I won’t wear them then (don’t think I have since 2012 anyway) but will hang on to them just in case they have a Renaissance (if they still fit after two babies…)

Bobmonkfish · 18/08/2021 20:17

Of course they will, they are a fairly classic style long-term. I have heels from 2005 in my wardrobe.

SoundBar · 18/08/2021 20:23

Do you like them? Do they suit you? I love a classic stiletto court shoe, in any colour. I think even nude is still wearable if the rest of the outfit looks fresh.

SparklingLime · 18/08/2021 20:27

Charlotte wears some in the new SATC film, fwiw.

Nude heels - keep or throw?
YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 18/08/2021 20:32

Good make or not too worn in?

If so; keep. They are timeless and will have a place, even if not fashionable. You may have an event where fashion is not the priority and they just work.

And then they'll come back in fashion. If you don’t want / like them, you can sell them for all the 💰

BasicB · 18/08/2021 20:37

I found mine recently too - unworn, I’d got some along with some similar black ones and ended up wearing the black ones. I got them in M&S in about 2012.

They went to a charity shop as we were moving house so I was being ruthless but I still think of them from time to time Grin

Letthelightoflove · 18/08/2021 20:40

Oh my god - I’ve been wearing mine for the office. What should I wear instead?!

TheRabbitStoleMyHat · 18/08/2021 20:50

I love my nude heels, they are the comfiest pair of heels I own. Admittedly I only wear them to weddings. For a night out I wear my trainers or DMs. But I didn’t know they weren’t ‘in’ anymore.

Bertiebiscuit · 18/08/2021 22:38

Get rid of all high heels - they look frumpy now everyone wears nice trainers - just think of the bunions you won't suffer from
