Can I wear this to a (not super formal) wedding?

Losing the will to live. Friend gets married in two weeks.

Loads of stressful shit going on in my life and haven't got round to shopping. Am not feeling good about myself/my weight and just can't be arsed heading into town this weekend to try and find something when I know I'll likely end up in tears in a fitting room somewhere.

I have this. It fits and it's comfy and flattering. I already have bag/shoes to go with it.

Wedding is in a small church then a budget hotel. Not super posh. Just want to be able to relax and enjoy my friend's wedding without having my ribs crushed by control underwear.

Thoughts?

I love it! I think it's super pretty.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 17/08/2021 09:05

I think it's fine for the wedding you describe. Nice hair, good makeup - you will look great

heldinadream · 17/08/2021 09:06

Yes definitely! Just go and enjoy yourself - do not stress about this - it's lovely.

Sooverthemill · 17/08/2021 09:10

It's a fabulous dress! Definitely wear that and just go and enjoy yourself. X

JamesWilbysAbs · 17/08/2021 09:14

Perfect. Really like it.

Scarby9 · 17/08/2021 09:16

Yes! It's very chic.

FunnyWonder · 17/08/2021 09:19

Wear that - it's fab! And if you feel comfortable in it, that's a bonus. Hope you enjoy the dayThanks

HalfTermHalfTerm · 17/08/2021 09:19

I think it’s fine from a formal/dressy point of view (and I really like it) my only slight worry would be about it being mainly black. If you think your friend won’t mind about that then go for it!

ExtremelyDisorganised · 17/08/2021 09:21

I think its fine, it might be mainly black but its hardly something that looks like funeral wear.

girlmom21 · 17/08/2021 09:22

Yeah it looks great - and if it's both comfy and flattering you're on to an absolute winner!

Blueuggboots · 17/08/2021 09:22

Deffo.

Noshowwithoutpunch · 17/08/2021 09:23

Lovely but it needs to be white/nude/ coloured bag and shoes.
Going black would definitely take it out of wedding territory.

Mrsmchammer · 17/08/2021 09:24

It's lovely and you're comfortable in it... That's a winning combo if ever there was one.
Enjoy the wedding.

OatyLatte · 17/08/2021 09:28

Looks lovely but agree with PP depends on handbag / shoes; preferably go for something to give you a pop of colour but if you haven't got anything like that just avoid black accessories.

piglet81 · 17/08/2021 09:29

Great dress. Hope you enjoy yourself!

dworky · 17/08/2021 09:32

It's fine and I'm sure your friend cares more about you being there than what you choose to wear, anyway.

BrumCahoots · 17/08/2021 09:35

It's a lovely dress ... I'd definitely wear that to a wedding ..

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 17/08/2021 09:35

It's lovely, def needs coloured shoes imo. Really nice Smile

Savannahnanana · 17/08/2021 09:37

Lovely dress and perfect for a wedding.

Rainallnight · 17/08/2021 09:38

Lovely! Metallic or coloured shoes and you’re good to go.

GoldFrankensteinAndGrrr · 17/08/2021 09:41

Absolutely gorgeous! Perfect for a wedding. Have a lovely time, OP.

Viviennemary · 17/08/2021 09:43

Personally I think it's ok. But I have heard black is a no no for a wedding.

Solid funereal black perhaps, but otherwise that's an outdated notion (a bit like matching your shoes to your bag).
GintyMcGinty · 17/08/2021 09:56

Lovely

Theimpossiblegirl · 17/08/2021 10:02

It's lovely. You will be comfortable.
Win win.
Enjoy the wedding.
