Can I wear this to a (not super formal) wedding?

Losing the will to live. Friend gets married in two weeks.

Loads of stressful shit going on in my life and haven't got round to shopping. Am not feeling good about myself/my weight and just can't be arsed heading into town this weekend to try and find something when I know I'll likely end up in tears in a fitting room somewhere.

I have this. It fits and it's comfy and flattering. I already have bag/shoes to go with it.

Wedding is in a small church then a budget hotel. Not super posh. Just want to be able to relax and enjoy my friend's wedding without having my ribs crushed by control underwear.

Thoughts?

Gorgeous and completely appropriate for a wedding. I'd wear my orange heels with it!

LazyMareofEastown · 17/08/2021 10:36

Thanks all. It's actually a jumpsuit rather than a dress. Have got a few pairs of colourful heels I can try on tonight.

Feel better for the positive replies. Not worried about it being partially black as think the polka dots + colourful shoes will mitigate that!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 17/08/2021 11:52

definitely!

Window1 · 17/08/2021 12:01

This is lovely

RuthW · 17/08/2021 12:19

Yes that's lovely for a wedding with a fascinator and buttonhole

Miliao · 17/08/2021 12:37

I’d wear that to a formal wedding, so definitely ok for an informal one! It looks great. I imagine RuthW is taking the mick, but please god no fascinator, this isn’t the 90s!!!

Enough4me · 17/08/2021 12:40

Yes and the colourful shoes will brighted it, have a good time.

ExtremelyDisorganised · 17/08/2021 12:42

Definitely no fascinator, it would look too fussy with the spotty pattern.

FadedRed · 17/08/2021 12:47

Lovely!

That sounds fab. Focus your energy on a massive beaming smile rather than trawling for another outfit. If you have time to get a shellac manicure or a blowdry or a bright lippy would that help?

I'm sure it's much more important to the bride and groom that you are comfortable and are happy for them.

LazyMareofEastown · 17/08/2021 14:18

Definitely no fascinator. They're just not me at all.

Will do beachy waves in hair and am planning on wearing a bold lipstick (either bright pink or red). Have lots of piercings so not sure any other type of accessory required?

Feel very relieved 😌.

Nice hair, lipstick and bright shoes all sounds perfect, great outfit!

catwithflowers · 17/08/2021 16:33

Fab outfit! I love it 😊. Hope you have an amazing time and feel confident and beautiful!

MoltonSilver · 17/08/2021 16:41

That all sounds perfect. You're done. You don't need to give it a second thought.

Gwenhwyfar · 17/08/2021 16:48

@Viviennemary

Personally I think it's ok. But I have heard black is a no no for a wedding.
The problem is with anything that looks like you may be going to a funeral. Black with big white spots is fine.
AnyFucker · 17/08/2021 16:52

That looks lovely. Black and white spots is not really “black black”

Dora26 · 17/08/2021 18:23

Lovely dress - enjoy!

BumBurnerBum · 17/08/2021 18:24

Yep

Saidtoomuch · 17/08/2021 18:26

Will do beachy waves in hair and am planning on wearing a bold lipstick (either bright pink or red). perfect. Coordinating red lippy with shoes and bag would be really fun.

LazyMareofEastown · 18/08/2021 11:31

One last opinion needed!

Yellow or red?

I am leaning towards yellow as feel red shoes + lips is too matchy plus I think I just prefer the style of the yellow ones.

Disclaimer: I have wide feet and can't do high heels so chunky shoes are the only kind I can wear for special occasions! Am envious of any of you who can wear dainty, strappy, foot exposing sandals!

You're going to look fab.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 18/08/2021 12:35

I agree, go with the yellow. Have a great time!

Jumpingintosummer · 18/08/2021 12:38

Yellow shoes and bag, red lip!

Palavah · 18/08/2021 12:43

Yellow shoes, red lip, beach waves will look great!
Shoe style is on trend too.
