CushionsandCandles · 15/08/2021 17:17

I was pondering this morning the huge number of products I use in 20minutes each morning and wondered what everyone else uses/how many? I am mid-40s and have definitely honed my favourites.

In shower
L'occiitane Almond shower oil
Aussie Purple Shampoo and Conditioner
Declor face wash
Sainsbury's shaving gel if shaving

Body
Mitchum roll on
JM blackberry and bay
Or
Origins Ginger Rush body cream
Then either
JM blackberry and bay perfume
Or

Face
Biore watery essence
Trinny BBF cream/or tinted serum
Trinny eye BBF concealer
Eyes
Boutique waterproof brow pomade
Maybelline colour tattoo creamy beige base
Trinny victory over
Rimmel exaggerate waterproof eyeliner
No 7 stay perfect Mascara
Lip and cheek Trinny Phoebe and Vaseline over lips
Ambient hourglass palette over all if I need it
Trinny Sunshine to cheekbones
Hair- Aveda damage remedy hair cream
Elnett hairspray when finished

So- 23!
And a complete mixture of the market.
What's your routine?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 17/08/2021 00:22

Just catching up on this thread and would like to add that I do brush my teeth! I do tepe brushes, mouthwash, then brush with an electric toothbrush and Sensodyne.

I’m interested in people’s “order” in the morning if anyone wants to share?

I do: get up, go for a wee
Kettle on, feed cat if I am first up
Make tea, let cat out, get in the shower
Makeup
Get dressed
Dry/straighten hair
Breakfast
Teeth
Lipstick
Pre WFH I would then get the cat in, and out the door.

Now I go to the kitchen table, DP to the spare room, and cat-face has slaves to let her in and out all day long.

roastedbroccoli · 17/08/2021 00:29

Wash face with SVR demo-nettoyant

Bed shampoo and conditioner

Hair
Either Redken Guts if wet or Living Proof dry shampoo if not washing

Also, a perfume.

Flambola · 17/08/2021 01:03

I love these, I’m so nosy so it’s great seeing what people use. I’ve gone minimalist these days (for me).

Shower
Pears soap
Tigi shampoo
Curl smith deep conditioner
Curlsmith air dry cream
Curlsmith hydro flexi gel
Olaplex no 7 oil (hate this)

Body
Altruist dry skin repair cream
Triple dry deodorant

spend 1 hr diffusing hair for it to still not be dry

Face
Splash of water
Heliocare mineral spf 50
Bare minerals matte powder foundation
Maybelline eyebrow pencil
Elf brow gel
Maybelline falsies lash lift mascara
Mac gingerly blusher
Lisa Eldridge Painterley lipstick

Then perfume.

Flambola · 17/08/2021 01:10

I wash my hair every 3/4 days so the tigi and curlsmith products are not used daily.

Lookingoutside · 17/08/2021 01:42

purdypuma · 17/08/2021 08:27

Physicians formula CC powder or No7 tinted mousuriser. Mac studio fix powder foundation if I need something more.

Whichever perfume takes my fancy

That was cathartic & somehow felt like a confessional as to my having way too many products!Grin

lazylinguist · 17/08/2021 08:40

Bar shampoo and Besti Dante or Savon de Marseille bar soap (on body and face) in the shower. Palms Cocoa Butter body moisturiser afterwards sometimes.

Aldi serum, then either Aldi day moisturiser plus Max Factor or No7 foundation or just Rimmel BB cream. Concealer (various), a Maybelline blusher stick, a bit of Max Factor Miracle Veil powder. A sheer lipstick. CK Escape or Eternity perfume.

Mousse on my hair if I'm bothering to blow-dry it.

Lush solid deodorant bar in summer. I don't need deodorant the rest of the year.

At night: Aldi's dupe of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, soap and water. Aldi eye cream. Nivea blue pot.

Mufflette · 17/08/2021 09:01

Face:
Either just flannel and water or Guinot Gommage Biologique fruit acid exfoliating cleanser
LRP Hydraphase eye gel
Vichy Mineral 89 serum
LRP Effaclar Duo tinted moisturiser
Vichy Capital Soleil SPF50

Shower:
Petit Marseillais extra gentle soap
Aveda Shampure shampoo bar and conditioner

Body cream at the moment is Caudalie
Pit-rok crystal deodorant

Hair:
Kerastase Incroyable if I'm drying it
Bumble and bumble BB don't blow it if I'm not
Klorane dry shampoo if I've not washed it

Makeup:
RMS concealer
Clinique Lash Power mascara
Clarins blusher
Either Lipstick Queen Medieval or Burberry Nude Blush

So usually 15 things. Does sound like loads when you add them up! And motivates me more to find sustainable versions of them all!

Sooverthemill · 17/08/2021 09:08

I clean my teeth. If I have showered I use l'occitane almond oil on my body ( very dry skin) but I do not shower every day because I am allergic to water. Otherwise I wash pits and bits and feet ( which I have discovered is now very trendy). I use Dove roll on pomegranate deodorant. I moisturise face with something hypoallergenic. I brush my hair. If I have also washed my hair I use kerastase oil on my damp hair and I sometimes zap it with the hairdryer. I often don't. I never wear make up.

grannycake · 17/08/2021 09:12

Neste Dante bar soap in shower, shampoo and conditioner every 3rd day currently herbal essences shampoo and a silver conditioner. Corsodyl mouthwash

M&S balm cleanser, nivea so soft maisturiser and that's it. Maybe a slick of red lipstick if going to face t face meeting

Coffeepot72 · 17/08/2021 09:45

Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, face wash, deodorant, talc, neck cream, body lotion = 8 products for shower

Clinique moisturiser, Clinique eye cream, primer, concealer, loose powder, mascara, eye liner, blusher = 8 products for face

Two Wella hair products plus hair spray = 3 products for hair

So 19 products in total, and I still can’t be ready in under 45 mins. No matter how hard I try.

LaBellina · 17/08/2021 09:47

Shower: shampoo + conditioner
Body wash
Shave (every other day)

After shower
Hair oil
SPF on face
Foundation plus do eyebrows
Deodorant and perfume
Brush and dry hair

Amitskitshaw · 17/08/2021 18:20

Oh ….. Colgate toothpaste, dry shampoo, radox body wash all over including face

Mesoavocado · 17/08/2021 18:36

Wow

Bath or shower at night

  • soap (whatever we have usually Palmolive)
  • supermarket own itchy scalp shampoo
  • some kind conditioner

Morning

  • Neals yard face wash, toner and moisturiser
  • deodorant and perfume
All in all five minute job
Anordinarymum · 17/08/2021 18:49

Goodness.. all those products some of you use ! Not knocking it by any means.

Shower with exfoliating gloves and then apply Sanctuary precious glow body oil everywhere. It makes my skin feel amazing and hydrated, and leaves a slight sheen.

Brush teeth. comb hair and I am good to go.

In summer I do not wear foundation but if I am going out I do my eyebrows and my lips.

In winter it is a different story. I like a full face !
I like Dior make-up and buy it for a treat. I also like Lancome especially their lipsticks and love their mascara but I hardly ever use it as I am one of those people who forgets and rubs their eyes a lot !

I only wash hair twice a week and do not use shampoo at all, so I am quite cheap to maintain compared to some of you lovelies!

TangledTrees · 17/08/2021 19:06

Shower
Aldi hot cloth cleanser for face
Little Soap Company lemon soap
Kukui oil shampoo
Toni & Guy conditioner
Aldi sensitive shower gel for shaving

Body
Dove or Sure deodorant stick
Aveeno moisturiser when needed
&’Other Stories body spritz

Face & Makeup
Eucerin moisturiser
Bioré Watery Essence SPF in summer
Maybelline Fits Me foundation
Face powder
NYX brow pencil
Lancome mascara
& Other Stories blusher
Burts Bees lip balm with nude lipstick on top

Hair
Air dry, sometimes with a drop of hair oil

18 products. And add in the leg razor, tweezers and eyelash curlers, it starts to sound a bit high maintenance!

TA365 · 17/08/2021 20:53

If I'm at work I shower in the evening (Dove body wash, Teseme Keretin Smooth Shampoo and Treseme moisturizing conditioner. If I can be bothered to blow dry my hair then Treseme Keretin Smooth smoothing lotion.)

In the morning:
Wake up, go to the toilet and brush teeth: Colgate Sensitive.
Cup of tea, do anything that needs doing before work.

Flannel wash: Dove body wash.

Sure Cotton Fresh deodorant.

Get dressed and use whichever Impulse body spray I have that month. (Usually Tease)

Take my inhaler and then brush my teeth again.

That's it...

nopuppiesallowed · 17/08/2021 21:21

Some of you do a days work just getting ready for the day!
I just splash face with cold water no cleanser until the evening.
Quickly rub face with Cetraben cream (dirt cheap - recommended by dermatologist as allergic to lots of moisturisers and it works).
Shower - simple soap, Argon oil shampoo and conditioner.
Teeth and waterpik water floss.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Light to cover uneven skin tone, mascara, eyeliner and lipstick.
Quick dry hair and good to go.

nopuppiesallowed · 17/08/2021 21:22

Oh. And I dye my eyebrows every 4 weeks as they are very pale. Makes a huge difference.

Winenota · 17/08/2021 21:39

Oh dear ..
Cheapo shower gel.
Water. Toothpaste. Maybe a slick of lippey.
How did that happen?
