Before I part with my money, I'd love some second opinions! I like the simple structured shape and the gold detailing. It also looks like the perfect size for my every day stuff, and has a handy strap too. Let me know what you think... Or if you have any suggestions for anything similar then let me know. I'm torn between this style and a crossbody! Budget up to £300.

Thank you!

I disagree with the comments about it being nice enough but not for that price. It's a really nice, chic design and it's been well done without any daft embellishments or weird textures and for me that would be worth the price (it wouldn't as its out of my budget, but it's in the OPs budget and that's the point here). I don't think any of the alternatives shown are as nice. There's something very classic about it - is that not worth the money? I don't buy handbags so what do I know. Confused

Do people really pay £200+ for bags??
And if so, why?

Galassia · 13/08/2021 18:23

It reminds me a little of a Modalu Pippa bag which were popular a few years ago.

It’s nice and practical but sow at have the wow factor.

Yeah, it’s crazy! Some people pay £20,000 for cars and others pay £20 for a steak! It’s really mad.

@MrsFin

Because we can.

Would you ask why people live in houses that cost more than £200,000.?

Yes, that's what it reminded me of, too. Similar design.

Because they can. 🤷‍♀️

Very elegant.

loobylou10 · 13/08/2021 18:49

Why do bag threads always attract the 'how could anyone possibly want to pay that much for a bag???' Crowd. It's so tedious - scroll on by to something you're interested in.
I think it's a bit dull actually OP - have you looked at Coach or Fossil? Coach a bit more pricy but they often have sales on.

ProfessorInkling · 13/08/2021 19:36

It’s gorgeous OP. Classic and will go with everything. Coach have some similar bags that might be worth a look.

Bag threads attract the ‘buy a bench’ crowd 🤷‍♀️

I knew it was only a matter of time before the ‘how much? On a bag???’ crowd arrived. It’s so utterly boring and predictable. Hint: if you’re not interested in handbags, don’t open threads that are clearly about handbags.

Yes, really, plenty people do. I’ve spent 2k on a bag. Others have spent 20k.

Likely for the same reasons: because we want to and because we can.

Hope that has clarified matters for you.

Maireas · 13/08/2021 19:50

There's some good suggestions on here.
I like that Joan bag from Harrods, looks like soft leather.

loobylou10 · 13/08/2021 19:50

@sammylady37 very well said!

HermioneWeasley · 13/08/2021 19:51

Don’t like that style in a small bag - it looks twee , and frumpy with a shoulder strap.

Get a tidy cross body bag instead. Try coach outlet

dottyaboutstripes · 13/08/2021 19:52

My dd has a very similar (if not identical) RL bag which she bought in TKMaxx - might be worth looking if you have a local store?

AppleFairy · 13/08/2021 19:54

Love it, OP. Classic style - won’t date. You’ll get a lot of wear from it

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/08/2021 19:56

No, I don't like black bags and the town is too orangey. I think there are nicer bags for that money.

alicema · 13/08/2021 19:57

I think it's lovely. I'd buy it! If you like it and it's perfect for your needs, then go for it.

headintheproverbial · 13/08/2021 19:59

Very smart work bag. Can't imagine ever wearing it in another context tho. Also too small for laptop...

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/08/2021 19:59

** town? Brown

User018475022 · 13/08/2021 20:44

It's lovely but unremarkable which is fine but I just see it as a very nice quality bag.

StCharlotte · 13/08/2021 20:57

I very much like that bag but would like to see it in a different colour. Even navy or cream would do for me. But if you like tan then it's fine.

(Love an outlet centre Smile)
