I've been using Lily Lolo mineral foundation for years, and in general, I love it. However, as my skin ages, I've started to think that a mineral foundation is not my best choice. My skin is getting drier and the foundation tends to sit in fine line and make my skin appear even more dry, especially round the eyes.

So, I think it's time for a bit of a refresh and to look for a liquid foundation, which scares me slightly as I've never used one! I really need recommendations of good brands to try. I'm planning a trip into town (large high street, couple of dept stores) so I can try samples.

I'm looking for something with a medium coverage. I have freckles and also patches of hyperpigmentation so I want something that will cover the hyperpigmentation (though I do use concealer too) without getting rid of all my freckles.

Try ELF they have some amazing products which are not stupidly priced. I used to get from Superdrug but just get from online now for the same price :)

No. 7 intelligent foundation . Makes me look years younger and healthy and it looks like I'm not wearing foundation at all ❤️

Chanel healthy glow is really natural and lovely, if expensive.

No7 serum lift and luminate is really nice too, not too glowy but definitely not matte.

IT cosmetics cc was nice too.

ELDW I found very drying. Didn't like the Armani texture. NARS I find too greasy. A lot of it is down to which brand does a good shade for you.

Highly highly recommend Dcypher - perfect colour match and you can choose how 'glowy' 'moisturising' etc you want it to be. Think it was in the Times recently which is why I tried it. Had loads of compliments wearing it - not 'I love your foundation' but 'you look lovely/pretty today etc' Shock! You use your phone or laptop camera and it take 3 pics. They then send you a free sample. If it is ok, you can 'approve' and order a bottle - or you can adjust it. But mine was perfect...

I purchased no 7 hydraluminous recently after a similar thread. They don’t do the colour match in my local store but I vaguely remembered I was cool vanilla from many years ago when I had I it done. I wasn’t sure though and it’s quite expensive but the assistant said they have a promise where If it’s not the right shade you just take it back even if opened. Fortunately it was right and I love it!

Brilliant, thank you! I've just done the analysis and it's been really helpful in identifying my skin tone, and I also got a detailed email with tips about what other make up (eye shadow, blusher etc) I should use. Free sample is on its way to me!

tried many foundations but my two high end especially for going out are dior star foundation and armani luminous silk. both amazing lasting coverage. fir every day my favorite is it cosmetics. I mix it with Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter (it's not a foundation but like a brightener) it's amazing gives you some glow

TootsieBootsie · 16/08/2021 08:45

I use the Charlotte Tilbury light wonder foundation it's gives a dewey finish and is lovely.
You can return it if it's the wrong shade. The Hollywood filter is also lovely. www.charlottetilbury.com/uk/product/light-wonder-1-fair
I tried the full coverage foundations, double wear and airbrush etc but find them cakey and they sit in lines, look awful!
