Is this dress awful?

Bought on a whim for a present for my dm birthday.Its shirred at the bottom part which you can't see in the pics.Its a brighter purple too.
She likes "different" stuff and hates dressing "old" she'll be 69 in 2 weeks.

She usually wears oranges and rusts tbh .I think I've had a massive brain fart!

My mil would love it. I think it's very Madge from Benidorm

I'm struggling to think of anyone that would look good on. Sorry.

It's not my style at all but I really like it! It's got a classy look about it and it would be easy to dress with accessories.

A good indication if it’s classy or not would be to imagine Rose from Keeping up appearances. If she would wear it then it’s got to be a no!

I see some people style that dress with a long sleeved top underneath and depending on their individuality it does really work. If your mum has her own style then yes definitely. I wouldn’t wear it without a cardigan though.

I think the spaghetti straps would be a problem for someone of a certain age.

The Bravisamo one is a bit..... i dont know ..... i cant say boring because my look is hardly inspiring but i really dont like it and would run out if a shop screaming if a stylist suggested that for me.

There are strapless bras you know!!! Its what I wear with spaghetti straps tops. Does the job.
