I think so! @Judystilldreamsofhorses

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 18/08/2021 20:56

@Artdecolover those eye drops are awful!! i especially hate the ones that turn your eyes yellow, they sting so so much. Im half an hour away from sheffield now and my local eye clinic is okay, its a big size hospital and has its own bit for eyes though they have talked abotu referring me to sheffield as im under the neurologist at sheffield anyway!

@FragrantlyScent i have prisms in my glasses and they are rather huge looking things. I cant even have vari/bifocals because the prism in my readers and the prism in my distance glasses are two different strengths! i cant be nice and simple can i?! Grin

Hello oh wise perfume people. I’m looking for a perfume that smells really orangey and is more of an evening perfume. I currently wear Jo Malone orange blossom which is perfect for the day, and I’ve had a sample of the shay and blue blood oranges which was lovely but lasted only minutes on my skin. Is there one you recommend? Thank you 🍊🍊🍊

MrsRLynde · 18/08/2021 21:21

Welcome Tabule. If you've got a free hand with the budget and would count tangerine/mandarin as orange, you should try and track down Les Nuits d'Hadrien which is a beautiful orange citrus/amber.

If you fancy an evening orange blossom, try Seville a l'Aube; a heady mix of orange blossom, petitgrain, beeswax, jasmine and incense.

Or for a big fizzy orange (with a hippyish patchouli vibe) try Shazam!

MrsRLynde · 18/08/2021 21:43

Oh Judy, thanks for reminding us of the Venn diagram but feeling sad we don't have Pestilentialone or Green in our midst any more (I don't think?).

Have just been rereading thread 3 - suspect many of you were there under different names? Judy - you are the easiest Perfumista to remain in touch with!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/08/2021 00:56

Ive only name changed once in my entire MN history but i never post too many personal things, i usually haunt the perfume and fashion threads and the sweary thread which is in 90 days only i believe!! I also haunt the christmas bargain threads as well :)

No scent of the night today as i had a seizure earlier and im feeling a bit sensitive to smells right now

FragrantlyScent · 19/08/2021 02:00

Welcome @tabulemonade 👋. I don't know many orange-y scents, but can recommend a couple.

The reformulated YSL Opium has an orange and spice top. More orange-y still is Estée Lauder Cinnabar - the top is quite bright and heady. They both dry down to spices, resins and incense, but I think Cinnabar retains the orange through top/middle/base notes. Both are quite rich, so great for evenings/winter. Two of my absolute favourites!

The company Monotheme (sold at M&S) have some orange scents (look for orange boxes/bottles), but they don't seem to last long, so maybe not what you're after. On the plus side they're relatively inexpensive so great for a quick spritz.

I've not tried them personally, but two I see recommended frequently elsewhere are Hermes Eau des Marveilles and Elixir des Marveilles. Check out the reviews on Fragrantica.

Hope you're OK, @OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack. Flowers

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/08/2021 11:57

Oh yes, theres a christmas bargains thread @FragrantlyScent if you find the christmas board its in there!!

thanks for the concern all, im okay now, just needed a good sleep and to rest it out :)

Artdecolover · 19/08/2021 12:05

I love the Xmas bargain threads but I'm I'm to stay off it until September 😀

Artdecolover · 19/08/2021 12:29

I've got dry eyes apparently

Yes that's an actual thing

So...drops and eye test in a couple of weeks

FragrantlyScent · 19/08/2021 13:04

@OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack Found it, thank you. Smile I didn't even know there was a christmas board! Blush

@Artdecolover Glad you were seen quickly and have an answer. Eye troubles can be worrying. I have dry eyes, too. It can be very painful, a horrible burning, stinging pain, which weirdly makes my eyes water! And my eyes get tired extremely quickly. The optician recommended some very £££ drops, but the price put me off buying them, so I'm trying to do without them atm. Will probably give in eventually though.

MrsRLynde · 19/08/2021 13:12

Dry eyes here too (it's all this staring at the internet Grin Grin)...so that will be yet another set for the Venn diagram.

Yes, hope you're doing OK, One.

They gave me some drops for free to try so I'll see how I get on.
I never realised dry eyes could cause actual pain at the back of the eye!
My eyes have been more watery recently too.
I'm going to head over to the Xmas bargain thread in September - I've hot some good ideas from there over the years

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/08/2021 13:17

i also have dry eyes!! i have eye drops that i use every day otherwise i get sort of eye 'migraines' right at the back of my eye. i dont know how else to describe it other than as a sort of migraine. its very painful though!!

Artdecolover · 19/08/2021 13:22

Wow!
We are all rather worryingly awesomely similar 😀
