Despite wearing perfume every day of my life I’m a total novice, sticking to what I know etc. However I’m loving this thread and experimenting..

I keep reading about Mitsouko and tried to get a sniff whilst out recently but failed 😣

Does the pp dupe bear any resemblance to the real thing ? Thank you

Imo no, it's not one of their best Mitsuko is lovely but I struggle with the base notes in guerlain perfumes (the guerlinade as its known) Most Chanel too...just bluergh

Mitsouko is an amazing Chypre @FormerlySpeckledyHen - peach, spices, oakmoss and a touch of amber - and one of my autumn/winter favourites. But I agree, the pp dupe of this is not very close, maybe only an 80% match (some of their dupes are absolutely spot on, though). Guerlain counters are quite hard to come by, especially now Debenhams have closed, towns and cities with either House of fraser or John Lewis dept stores are probably your best bet.

Sotd is Phaedon's Hesperys - lavender & camomile. It normally smells like the original Herbal Essences shampoo, but not today. In cold weather it smells slightly medicinal. Or my Covid booster has changed my sense of smell....

SOTD yesterday was Arabie. Today, I'm wearing Cinnabar layered over Youth Dew for a bit of present shopping - I'm really loving this combination, it smells just like the old Cinnabar before reformulation (red capped bottle) - so festive! 🎄🎁

@FormerlySpeckledyHen MM Jazz Club dissappeared almost instantly on me, too (but I was quite pleased; I really disliked the weird coconut-tobacco vibe I kept getting).

My SOTD began as SJP Lovely, then became Floris Honey Oud and is now 4160 Tuesdays Rosa Ribes. I still reckon I smell great. Plus I work from home so I can totally overdo it.

M&S spiced bergamot. Reminds me of a posh shop.

Thank you @MissBattleaxe and @Opal8. I initially thought the YD and Cinnabar together would be too much, but I'm rather pleased with how Christmassy it smells - the orange, the incense and all those spices just smell so festive and special. ❤️ 🎄
