Jo Malone Wood Sage & Seasalt. I bought a little bottle of this the other day. I'm craving light soothing scents at the moment, in contrast with challenging times at home.

Winecheesesleep · 24/10/2021 18:47

Hello please can I join you? I happened upon this thread a few months ago and have been lurking and getting more into perfumes having been more of a 'one perfume until it runs out' person. I've bought some samples from ebay and signed up to the Perfume Society seasonal box which has been interesting.

So! Sotd is Diptyque Tam Dao. My natural preference is for more summary scents and I'm trying to find autumn ones I like. This one seems nice, very woody.

Opal8 · 24/10/2021 18:53

Sorry times are challenging atm @Fferny1

I hope things start improve for you soon x

I've got a busy week coming up...
I'm now mum taxi again for ds2 (issue at school with his friend. Its quite serious but school seems to be dealing with it) so early starts again 😫

I've got a job interview on Wednesday! No idea if I even want the job tbh but...

Then rheumatology appointment on Thursday evening

We put ds2s bedroom wall mural up earlier...looks quite good!

I need to plan my perfumes for the week ahead...:)

Interview..hmm...something office friendly? Not sure I own too many many of those 🤣🤣
Hospital appointment...something comforting

FloraMacDonald · 24/10/2021 22:13

Hello everyone. Sorry I've not been about much. My summer was pretty awful. Sad
Perfumewise, I've just been wearing Bowmakers, LDDM, or molecule 01 on rotation, with the occasional spritz of Avon Timeless for a change. I've lost my perfume-mojo a bit.
I've lost track of who some of you are.

Opal8 · 24/10/2021 22:25

@FloraMacDonald I'm so sorry to hear you have had a bad summer - some of us are having such a hard time atm :(
(I'm mrs08)

I do think it's been 18 months of real mental and emotional trauma (physical for some of us too)

It's bound to leave its mark :(

I am of the opinion that if I am managing to get up, do what I need to do, look after my dc and mum then I'm doing OK.

(Hugs)

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 24/10/2021 22:50

Oh so sorry to hear things are tough ferny and flora. I agree with opal that these have been a life changing 18 months. I go through phases of feeling okay, and feeling completely overwhelmed. And opal it sounds like a big week for you.

Hello wine, nice to see you here. We’re a friendly bunch although quite moany sometimes!

SOTD MG Plum.

Opal8 · 24/10/2021 23:17

Welcome @Winecheesesleep!

FragrantlyScent · 25/10/2021 00:19

Sorry to hear times are difficult @Fferny1 and @FloraMacDonald. Sad I hope things improve for you both soon. Flowers

Welcome to the thread, @Winecheesesleep. 👋

Looks like an eventful week, @Opal8. Good luck with your job interview and at the hospital. Smile

FragrantlyScent · 25/10/2021 00:21

SOTD Monotheme Black Oud. Very cosy.

Opal8 · 25/10/2021 07:58

I'm going to go for the same as yesterday..
Campfire marshmallow body cream and 4160 Tuesdays captured By Candlelight
Ooooof I smell amazing 🤣💜

Opal8 · 25/10/2021 11:09

I feel slightly "fuck it all" today 🙃
So I've ordered 2 x mods from 4160 Tuesdays (amber woods and brigadoon..)
They were food value for 50mls but still...😃
My stitches are itchy and ds2 is back to school today after an unpleasant incident on the last day of term (why do things always happen on the last day of term!?..)
I'm very ambivalent about the job interview...meh

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/10/2021 13:47

SOTD YSL Libre. I seem to be getting the cold (lateral flow test is negative) and feel rubbish.

Opal8 · 25/10/2021 14:16

Ds1 has had a dose of freshers flu @Judystilldreamsofhorses
All his friends who are geographically distant have it too :(
I feel quite rubbish today but I worried about mum/interview/rheumatology appointment...
Ugh

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/10/2021 18:58

We’ve just been off for a fortnight so I can’t even blame a student for giving me this, opal. You have a lot on your plate at the moment, make sure you take time to look after yourself. ❤️

madamceladon · 25/10/2021 20:14

SOTD sarah Jessica Parker Lovely. I didn't like it much when I first bought but the more I try it the more I love it. It's very sophisticated... teaches me not to judge a scent by its name / bottle

Winecheesesleep · 25/10/2021 22:20

Sorry a few of the perfumistas are having a tough time Flowers

Sotd for me is Tam Dao again. I'm not sure, it's probably a bit woody for me but want to give it a few goes as new perfumes often grow on me.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/10/2021 22:28

apologiers once again for being MIA. ive been absolutely battered by a chest infection (non covid) that i just couldnt shift so ive barely been out of the house as ive just been sleeping and wheezing!!

einekleinenachtarbeit · 26/10/2021 09:58

Hi everyone ! Hope you don't mind me posting for advice ! Has anyone tried Fragrance Samples Uk ? Seem to have loads of different brands between £3 and £5. Or can anyone recommend a reputable company ? Particularly want to try some guerlaine ones but not much on ebay and obviously can be risky.
I know there are some real experts and perfume afficiendos on this thread !

@Lalalablahblahblah thanks for that !

MissBattleaxe · 26/10/2021 14:15

Yes Fragrance Samples UK are a trustworthy site.

FragrantlyScent · 26/10/2021 23:42

That sounds awful, @OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack. Flowers Chest infections can really wipe you out; mine always seem to linger for ages, too. I hope you feel better soon. Can the doctor prescribe an inhaler or similar to help with the wheeziness?

Lots of colds going around here, too, @Judystilldreamsofhorses. Flowers Feel better soon.

SOTD pp MM By the Fireplace.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/10/2021 23:45

Im already on inhalers because ive got asthma @FragrantlyScent :) they do help but when the infection just lingers its brutal!

Fferny1 · 27/10/2021 00:19

Sorry you're both feeling ill @one & @judy 💐
@opal I hope your stitches are less itchy and the best of luck for the interview tomorrow.

Re. Sotd i'm on a Rose kick like every other Autumn when the weather starts becoming chilly. Then I crave the comfort of Drole de Rose & la fille de berlin. Powdery soothing Rose is helping me sleep at night during this really anxious time. Along with copious sprays of This Works Sleep spray.

I also found a really nice candle in Tk Maxx today that smelt delightfully Christmassy. I think it's an Aussie brand and it's cinnamon & maybe orange. It's rare to find a candle that's not synthetic smelling these days. The same brand do a kitchen Mandarin & Orange candle as well, so I ended up buying 3.

Opal8 · 27/10/2021 13:54

Sotd EL modern Muse Nuit
I'm knackered
