@Judystilldreamsofhorses, I had you in mind!

Naples is very new... released a few days ago, but it's like Sel Marin for autumn and winter because the base is warm. Reminiscent of Eau des Merveilles as well. Both of which are favourites of mine.

I like almost everything Gallivant has done, have one FB (Bukhara) a perfume oil (London), I'm sitting on my hands for Los Angeles (next summer holidays) and now Naples is calling to me. However, I mostly eke out the sample set.

Migraine so no sotd

FragrantlyScent · 15/10/2021 20:44

SOTD: Monotheme Black Oud. While this has absolutely no oud, it is a very light warm-woody smell. Very comforting and much needed today, as I also have a terrible headache. In fact, I have been getting these a bit too frequently. They seem to come in patterns - maybe three or four a week for a month, then a fortnight of respite, before the pattern repeats itself. Dispiriting, as it means I have more to look forward to this month. Sad

Opal8 · 16/10/2021 07:25

Sorry to hear that:(
They are very painful and mean I "lose" 1/2 days a month

PearsMorgan · 16/10/2021 07:56

SOTD White Queen. Trying to summon up energy for Parkrun, whatever works.

Opal8 · 16/10/2021 07:57

I'm off for a facial and massage this morning (plus coffee and crepes!)
Really not in the mood 😒

Opal8 · 16/10/2021 11:26

Feeling very relaxed after my massage...

Sotd 4160 Shazam! Lovely Ambery goodness. Also quite festive smellng?

I wrapped a few xmas gifts last night (well, my version of wrapping which is tissue paper and reusable gift bags!)

Didn't feel very festive - even less so when dh told me he'll be away on his first work trip in 2 years from 11-18th December

I always have to be done by end November as somethingalwaysseems to happen in December (illness, house issues, family woes...)

Ds1 seems to have freshers flu (negative LFT) so he'll be in bed all day.

Ds2 is feeling a bit upset as their was an incident at school yesterday.

Dh is just being his usual annoying self

@PearsMorgan my 9 year old has asked for a bottle of Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum for Christmas. It's very sweet obviously but at least it's "real" perfume and not from Claire's Accessories Grin

Opal8 · 16/10/2021 11:37

@pearsmorgan
One of the ariana grande perfumes would go funny well I'm sure...clouds or the pink one with a pom pom on it

Opal8 · 16/10/2021 11:37

Funny well?
very well

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but its about smells so I'm hoping you can help!

I'm looking for some candles for winter but not Christmas (I already have loads). So something that smells of pine and frost, apples and oranges and cranberries or smoky fires and crisp leaves. Nothing like cookies etc - can't stand those smells!

I was looking at MMM Replica fireplace but all the reviews say it smells like marshmallows and cookies rather than a burning fire.

I usually have floral and citrus scented candles burning in my house but I really want to celebrate the seasons this year so want something different. Any ideas for cold and crispy or warm and smoky!?!

TIA

ThankYouVeryMuchGerry · 16/10/2021 18:08

Should add budget not really an issue, would rather have something that smells amazing rather than something cheaper that smells synthetic.

musicmum75 · 16/10/2021 18:12

@ThankYouVeryMuchGerry Potters Crouch Fireplace candle is amazing! www.potterscrouchcandles.co.uk/product/fireside-scented-candle-in-a-tin/

musicmum75 · 16/10/2021 18:17

@ThankYouVeryMuchGerry I also really love the Highland Escape range from The White Company.

Opal8 · 16/10/2021 18:21

Mmm by the fireplace candle is smokey but the perfume parlour dupe is better at half the price (wood fire)
Diptique feu de Bois is very smoky - too much so for me

Opal8 · 16/10/2021 18:22

If budget is not an issue then Diptique feu de Bois definitely

NotMyCat · 16/10/2021 20:05

@ThankYouVeryMuchGerry this is amazing

FragrantlyScent · 17/10/2021 14:18

Scent for yesterday was Guerlain Mitsouko. Will choose one for today in a bit.

Postdatedpandemic · 17/10/2021 19:58

SotE is Oeillet Bengale by Aedes de Venustas it is so warm that I don't need to put the heating on.

Waves at everyone as I've been missing for a while.

bambooelectrictoothbrushhead · 17/10/2021 20:13

Muji also does a very reasonable wood smoke candle

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 17/10/2021 20:43

SOTD Chanel Le Lion. Yesterday was Chanel 19.

FragrantlyScent · 17/10/2021 21:32

SOTD Guerlain Shalimar.

I was quite cold this morning; it took two hot cups of tea, a blanket, and a cardigan for me to warm up. Now though, it is warm, and I'm in short-sleeves. Not sure why the temperature keeps fluctuating; I wish it would get properly cold, though. I love cold weather.
