Sotd pp mmm btf 💜

SOTD Dior Fahrenheit parfum for a trip to the GP and then shopping. Violets, spicy woods, vanilla. Was worried it might be too strong for a healthcare setting, so only sprayed lightly. Very busy out there today! Queues everywhere.

Will choose a SOTE later.

My dupe for Tom Ford is en route. I still think the original stayed on all day. I'm wondering whether to fork out the money for a treat!

SOTD is Guerlain Mitsouko, because I read that today is the first day of meteorological autumn. 🍁 I think Mitsouko is what the colour gold would smell like, which seemed apt. 🍂 Warm, almost edibly sweet peach; tempered with bergamot, incense, and moss; enriched with rounded florals; and then the most delightfully powdery, spiced amber dry down. Perfect from beginning to end.

I think schools return this week, so hope this is going well for all those with school age children. 📚✏️

SOTD a sample of Chanel Le Lion. I like this a lot but it is ££££!

Dupe arrived, not as long lasting but identical!

@Judystilldreamsofhorses Le Lion looks amazing, the notes listed on fragrantica (found the name intriguing, so had a quick peep) are all my favourites (❤️ Amber); but yes, very spendy. Have added to my Want to Sniff List!

@Eesha, Ooh, I'm so pleased you found the pp dupe accurate! Yes, the longevity of the dupes I tried wasn't quite the same as the originals for me either. Did you go for the oil or the spray? Only asking because apparently they have an extract spray which they claim has more staying power than their ordinary 13/30/50ml spray. Projection is also supposed to be better. I actually found the options quite confusing so emailed to ask about the differences. They say their oils are the strongest in terms of longevity, but they admit projection is quite poor. Also, I find the oils very fiddly to use and the roller is so scratchy! Glad you may have found a cheaper alternative though, despite longevity issues.

Oh! Forgot to mention above - thank you to @Artdecolover for originally recommending perfume parlour to me on this thread. I'm very pleased I could pass on the tip. I've said it before and will probably say it again; this thread must be the nicest, most friendliest place on the Internet. ❤️

Just seen that MM have a new Replica out called Autumn Vibes. Supposedly has spices, cedar, moss and fir balsam, and is earthy and woody. Spotted samples on FeelUnique. Have added this and Whispers in the Library to my Want to Sniff list, which is now so long I keep re-adding things I've already listed, because I can't easily see what's there. Which surely slightly defeats the point.

This is what I did: Google 'FeelUnique pick and mix', and tap on the pick and mix website, then tap 'filter by', then 'departments', then 'fragrance'. MM Autumn Vibes was on the first page. You get to pick five samples for £3.95 (I think). Hope that works for you, I'm rubbish at explaining things.

Would also love a sample, I read that it's new? Think I have to wait because you can only order five samples a month. Was browsing in advance to see if there was anything I liked.

SOTD the lovely Mitsouko - first outing of the season!

SOTD is Estée Lauder Youth Dew because I was cold and felt absolutely certain the bottle was calling out to me. Currently wafting around in the glow of beautiful spices and incense, and am unimaginably happy.

It is definitely cooler today, and feels like the start of a new season.

Sotd EL modern muse nuit

I rather like this flanker although I'm.not keen on the original. It's a pretty linear vanilla/patchouli but is warming and pleasant. Its also a lovely blue colour 💙

I love Shazam. My mum used to stud oranges with cloves and roll them in orris root to make pomanders for on the fireplace and so it smells like Christmas to me, very nostalgic

Knowledgeable perfumistas can I please ask you for your advice?

I have recently purchased a bottle of Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. It's my first Jo Malone, I normally wear strong scents e.g Alien/Angel.

When I put the PN on within 5 minutes it fades and I can't smell anything. I asked for advice at the Jo Malone counter in JL a week or two after purchase and they said I need to layer it and sold me a body cream. I now put the cream on, get dressed and then put the PN on. The issue is the same though, in 5 mins I can hardly smell it.

What do I need to do to make it last, or is Jo Malone just a big con in a lovely box with a ribbon on?!
