Please tell me your recommendations for good, comfortable sandals for a long city sightseeing trip.

Not dead flat, small incline needed but no "heels", obviously!

I know they are seen as a ' granny ' shop , but I seem to remember last year on here a few were saying how comfy the Hotter shoe called Tourist was.
I don't have them, but they don't seem too bad on my eye.

SiSiSi · 28/07/2021 20:59

Thank you, I'll take a look.

I have a pair of these that have been going a couple of years now and I'd recommend them for city/sightseeing. They're probably not going to win any fashion awards but the straps are thin enough that they don't look too clumpy. They are incredibly comfortable and I've walked miles in them.

Yes, the Hotter Tourist is the most comfortable sandal!

Charley50 · 28/07/2021 21:05

Trainers!

MsDastardley · 28/07/2021 21:07

Have a look at Ecco. I had got some walking sandals from there, and although not the most attractive they were very comfortable. Might be worth checking out some outdoor shops like Cotswold and Blacks.

I got some Teva leopard print midform sandals, and they’re not bad. Utility sandals are on trend at the moment!

Mytholmroyd · 28/07/2021 21:07

Another vote for Hotter - my daughter and I both have bought sandals from there for sightseeing in hot places - they usually have a couple of passably trendy ones. But they are very comfortable underfoot and always buttery soft leathers. Rarely get blisters from them.

QueenBee52 · 28/07/2021 21:13

buttery soft... oh sounds heavenly ..

rushes off to purchase the rose gold 🤣

Scoose · 28/07/2021 21:18

I'm not a fan of the Hotter Tourist, but the Tropic don't look too bad. Very inoffensive!

I've got Karrimor walking sandals something like these www.outdoorlook.co.uk/karrimor-womens-botella-ankle-strap-suede-walking-sandals#235=3385&236=37298

inmyslippers · 28/07/2021 21:24

The brand fitflops

Sunshinebrunshine · 28/07/2021 21:40

I have hotter maisie... Love love love them and can walk for hours in them. Lucy sandals kook similar though. I would definitely recommend.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 28/07/2021 21:45

Fitflops are super comfy, I'm on my third purchase of the year!

hamsterchump · 28/07/2021 21:48

Not everyone's taste but Birkenstocks. I have the Arizona in the Tobacco Oiled Leather and comfortably walked 13 miles of coastpath in them recently.

goose1964 · 28/07/2021 21:49

I wear my birkenstock Gizehs but they are well broken in.

ISeeTheLight · 28/07/2021 21:51

Another vote for Ecco. Incredibly comfortable if you get the padded ones, and they look nice.

Cocolapew · 28/07/2021 21:51

These are like walking on air

Relife by pavers.

triplechoc · 28/07/2021 21:54

I can walk for hours in Birkenstock Gizehs without any issues, but then I’ve lived in them for summers for about 12 years!
I find the style keeps them on my feet securely without me having to constantly grip with my toes, and no faffing with lots of straps.

Serenissima21 · 28/07/2021 21:59

Birkenstocks! A model with a strap round the heel is better for walking. I walked 18km in mine today and they are still really comfy.

PenOrPencil · 28/07/2021 22:01

If you are not used to Birkenstocks I would not recommend them, unless they are the soft soled ones.
I have these Timberlands and they are super comfy.

Jasmine11 · 28/07/2021 22:28

I just got these which are very comfy so far :)
