I think everyone on this thread should put a newly published book by the incomparable writer Justine Picardie called "Miss Dior - a story of Courage and Couture" on their Christmas/birthday present lists. The details about royal fashion (post WWII) are fascinating, quite apart from the compelling central story about Catherine Dior, sister of Christian Dior, and her extraordinary life.
Lots of photographs and illustrations of Dior outfits worn by HM and Princess Margaret to be found too.

Now that is an excellent recommendation!

From what can be seen of it, that dress looks good on Sophie, and I also really like that spotty dress of CPV's.

Where on earth are the Cambridges ? They seem to have vanished!

I also see on NMR that Sophie and Princess Anne have done a joint engagement at the Westmorland County Show. They look like they get on well and had a jolly time.

Fashion-wise I'm not keen on either look. The different components of Sophie’s outfit don't go well together in terms of colour, texture or style, and I don't like that acid yellow jacket of Anne's.

William's been doing something for 999 Day today as it's on Instagram, but Kate is still MIA. The cover of Hello last week said they were planning "a show stopping event" but at this point them leaving the house might qualify as that!

It's quite strange. This time of the year we often have the back to school/starting school photos. HMQ has also been MIA, though I suppose she's still at Balmoral.

I'm pretty sure even private schools have gone back now.

I'm in agreement with everyone, neither Sophie nor Anne have made good choices. It's nice to see them out and about at a country show, though. Sophie smiling at the cow is a great picture!

I look at the way the European royals publish official family photos in the summer, at Christmas, birthdays etc and wonder why on Earth ours don't do the same.

I know Kensington Palace publishes Kate's photos of the Cambridge children on their birthdays, but that's all we get. They could definitely do a couple more official family shots a year.

I'm in south London and all the indie schools near us went back last Thursday! So Kate has no excuse not to get out & about and show us some new frocks. I know William was doing a 999 thing yesterday, but I can't get too excited about his outfits...

Lovely photos, I'm sure someone will be identify the very pretty tiara. Lots more photos on the DM including my favourite stylish royal Lady Helen Taylor. Also the snippet that James Ogivly (I may or may not have harboured a teenage crush on him) and his wife Julia now live in Nantucket!

It’s convertible too, you can swap out the pearl centres of the flowers for sapphires or turquoise’s. Pretty!

The bride looks lovely - how nice to get chance to have a big dressed up wedding blessing after a tiny private ceremony.

Sophie has worn that dress to Ascot before. It has a really odd back - the back is cut away and the collar becomes essentially a band around her neck - like a pink scrunchie halterneck. Not Emilia Wickstead’s best design.
