Everyday pink lippy

Any recommendations for a lovely rose pink or dusky pink lippy? I'm a student atm so small treats are so nice these days but I really can't justify spending loads on a lippy so the cheaper the better, though I realise £5 or £6 is no doubt miles better than £2 - £3! I bought a Boots Natural Collection one and it's like a melted crayon 😕
Nice colour but terrible quality so it's now in the possession of my 10 yo dd!
My colouring is fair & I'm looking for something that would do everyday/for work/out in the pub. Tia for suggestions & looking forward to availing of the collective wisdom!

they have mini versions if you can’t splash for a full size or are worried about buyer’s remorse. They have a 10% off sale on
You're talking my language Smile

justaweeone that's a few recommendations for same now, it's definitely on the need-to-try list.
Off to browse tomorrow, but just thinking, testers must be a thing of the past, so no more multiple back-of-the-hand, or even piece of paper streaks. I'll have to take a leap of faith. S'pose I could forgo my Friday night bottle of plonk & buy two 🤔

I have your colouring and budget and like Rimmel Asia too. A friend bought it for me for my birthday a couple of months ago. Wouldn't say it was pink tho (reminds me a bit of Heather Shimmer or Coco Crush from the 90's if I'm honest).

I'm always looking for a daytime pink that lasts a long time and isn't greasy or sticky.

There's a tester on eBay

This might be a bit too much of a punt, but Barry M unicorn works really well for me for this — much better than some more expensive ones. But it's a colour-changing lipstick, so it might not turn the same pink on you.

It's £4.99 though, and Boots often have a 3 for 2 so might be worth looking out for?

MadisonAvenue · 27/07/2021 23:26

Mac have got an offer on at the moment, not sure when it ends but most lipsticks are £12.50. I’ve just bought a Runway Hit, it’s become a favourite of mine. It’s a lovely everyday pink despite the website describing it as a light nude matte.

Rimmel asia

Don't buy CT pillow talk without testing. There are so many other colours that might look better. It makes me look ill.

I'm getting on well with this

disconnected101 · 28/07/2021 11:24

The recommendations for Rimmel Asia just keep coming! I really like the idea of a balmy/buttery one. I'm starting to get those fine lines around my lip line so keeping them moisturised is a must. Some of the lipsticks sound v.moisturising too

I think I'm going to order the Asia one, looks promising.

Housewife2010 · 28/07/2021 11:35

Have a look at the Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks. I got the Rich Girl Red in a beauty box last year. It's a sheer orangey red but feels and looks great. I would have a look at their pink shades. Temptalia.com is great for swatches. I usually buy premium makeup and it was as good at or better than many of my usual lipsticks. I have CT Pillowtalk and am not impressed. I find Mac lipsticks OK but not that incredible.

Galassia · 28/07/2021 22:04

If you don’t want a matte look but lip gloss is too shiny or gloopy, I put on a pink lipstick and blot my lips so that it’s more of a stain, or I fill my lips in using a pink lip pencil and then I use a tiny bit of Pink Diamond Vaseline and it stays put for hours and gives a nice sheen.

Mac Brave (satin) was my wedding lippe 4yrs ago. I have been wearing it almost every day since , it’s buildable, subtle and so flattering. Sorry not on budget, maybe a splurge with boots points or something, or Xmas list x

Bessica · 28/07/2021 22:48

Primark do a Matt lipstick called vintage rose and it’s fab! £1.50 each. They do other pink shades so for that money you could buy a few to try.

MakeMathsFun · 28/07/2021 23:03

You could buy all the above excellent suggestions until you find what you want. Or you could wear your lips au naturel and save a lot of money and time.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/07/2021 23:41
Hmm
disconnected101 · 29/07/2021 00:25

Bessica I will definitely at least try the vintage rose for starters - thanks for the colour suggestion, and at that price I'll probably get it as well as Rimmel Asia. So many recommendations for it that I think it must be worth a try.

MakeMathsFun
I certainly could wear my lips 'au naturel and save a lot of money and time.'
I already do go au naturel most of the time. I also love how make up can enhance or completely transform your look, much as clothes do. It's fun! It's not about changing what nature gave you - I'm not a fan of 'fake' looks at all (but each to their own) - or masking or covering up, for me it's simply about adding a wee pop of extra colour. And a browse in Boots / Primark won't take much time or money Smile

I also like the Revlon Cloud Blotted lipsticks. As a gloss, Laura Geller Nude Kisses is really nice. But on a budget the Primark lipsticks are great and last really well on me. Fantastic value.

disconnected101 · 29/07/2021 00:36

Martyitsyourkids that's lovely.
I just Googled it and the Primark suggestion, and there was a whole thing on how a shade from the Primark range is a very convincing dupe for a MAC one.
I'll definitely start at budget then start my Xmas wish list Grin

Primark and Rimmel now about neck and neck
