Those of you with what i think of as intense regimes - do you have children? If so where are they when you are doing all this exercise and meditation and ‘me time’ ? With the nanny/au-pair?
I assume this is goady, but I'm going to reply as if it isn't: I have one toddler DS and do most of my routine when he's asleep or during my lunch break at work when he's at nursery, or when he naps at the weekend. He sleeps 7:30 - 7pm so that
hours of time to faff about with skin care and yoga and whatever else I want to do. I've also got a DH who pulls his weight so I'm not doing all the housework too.
Anyway, I live in NYC where not being polished and put together just isn't an option.
- I've got an AM and Pm skincare routine based on Caroline Hirons. I also do a prescription strength retinol 3 times a week.
- Highlights done about every 3 months. Cut around the same time
-Fingernails gelled every 2 weeks. Usually a neutral color so it doesn't show any wear/chips
- Brows waxed and dyed about every 6 weeks.
- Exercise for a minimum of 20 minutes every day, bit it's usually more like half an hour or 45 minutes. Sometimes I manage to squeeze in an hour.
I prefer to spend the time and money on getting a good "base" going and then having a minimal daily routine. So I get my skin in good nick and my brows and lashes dyed, then just throw on tinted moisturizer, brow gel and mascara and maybe a bit of lipstick and blush every morning and I'm ready to go.
Likewise I tell my hairdressers that I need highlights that can grow out a bit and look nice, and a cut that can be air dried. This is a good tutorial on how to air dry properly: cupofjo.com/2020/03/a-trick-for-air-drying-your-hair/
Clothes-wise I tend to stick to natural fibers and buy a lot of second hand designer. Since I'm in the US, a lot of my wardrobe is Madewell and JCrew too. I'd say I have pretty heavy Dark/Light Academia leanings (as the teens say) so the shapes tend to be fairly classic.
