Ugh. My saggy tits.

Help with bras please ! I've just returned my third bra order because they gaped and looked shit. The ones I have are really old, tatty and also gaping at the top.

I've two toddlers and BF'd then expressed a lot. I've measured myself using boob or bust and have tried a variety of sizes and styles... and nothing works 😔

The problem is sagging, but more than that ... just... zero volume at the top. They used to be so bouyant and full. Now the top is flat as a pancake. Even "balconette" styles seem higher / taller in the cup than I anticipated and the top gapes. And it looks bad under t-shirts.

I think I need padding / gel pads in the bottom. Not to have an amazing wonderbra-esque cleavage, but just to push what I've got upwards to actually fill the cups ?

Has anyone tried this? Or any other suggestions please ?

Oh love… personally I was too selfish to breast feed and massively admire anyone that does. Kudos to you! Is the lack of volume at the ‘top’ thats the issue? Or general lack of volume to ‘oomph’ it all out? I would personally make it a priority and go and get measured in two shops; then decide what works for you. FYI, gel things or chicken fillets in the sides or underneath (or a maximiser bra with those built in) could be a good option. Do you ever wear a sports bra?

Capricornandproud · 19/07/2021 22:30

PS - Love New Look for a good maximiser and the straps wear well. I also got a couple of good lifter uppers from Primark!

babbi · 19/07/2021 22:32

I would try somewhere like Bravissimo for a fitting .
They are excellent at trying many styles and sizes .
They’ll definitely be able to help.

EezyOozy · 19/07/2021 22:33

Thanks @Capricornandproud. I didn't actually breastfeed for that long but I did express like my life depended on it and I think that's what did it!

Boob or bust suggest balconette or plunge if you're fullness is at the bottom. Personally I love the Wonderbra refined glamour triangle bras.

EezyOozy · 19/07/2021 22:34

Thanks for the fitting suggestions. I live in a rural area but maybe this would be a good excuse for a trip to the city!

Mine used to be like that too - spaniels ears. tried a wonderbra and boob flaps fell out of the middle or gradually worked their way out.
I had a mastopexy (boob lift) in the end.
It's ugly but the good old Doreen bra will give you a wonderful shape under teashirts.

ThroughThinkandThing · 19/07/2021 22:35

I've found panache good for breasts that are more bottom heavy.

EezyOozy · 19/07/2021 22:37

It's definitely lack of volume at the top. The bottom is ok, a bit pendulous though, sadly.

Second the triumph Doreen! Great for lift and shape

HummingBeeBox · 19/07/2021 22:46

Panache Tango is great. Can just pop it all in the nicely shaped cups. Not great under a T-shirt though as a bit Lacey

fallfallfall · 19/07/2021 22:54

I got a breast lift, the earlier you do it the more money you save on bras.

EezyOozy · 19/07/2021 23:17

How much is a breast lift, just out of interest ?!

Not sure now I had mine in the 80's and its lasted pretty well. About £6k now I think unless you go abroad.
BillyShears · 19/07/2021 23:23

Re the Doreen, does this work on massive boobs? I have a similar issue to the OP but mine are whopping. Like 34MM huge. I just can’t see anything without wire doing much for mine, but like the shape that would give under tops.

Polmuggle · 19/07/2021 23:32

OP if it helps I also have spaniel ear boobs and I've never had a child or breastfed!!

The thing that works for me is a good full cup. I'd talk to a bravissimo fitter online (in their website - it's all free) and get some good advice.

EezyOozy · 19/07/2021 23:43

@Polmuggle ah that's great you can chat online - I'll give that a go , ta :)

I'd agree with the fitting
I did it for the first time in my late 40's 4 kids and a lifetime cycle of yo yo dieting and nearly cried ! She made me put my top back on I thought it was a different person in the mirror
My boobs back where they used to be
My stomach looked smaller , waist looked slimmer , clothes looked so much better
Really need to go and do this again

Haffiana · 20/07/2021 17:54

Yeah, you need a proper fit. Did you definitely follow Boob or Bust to check you are buying the correct size - it sounds as if your band size is too large? The band is where all the lift comes from. If you can get the proper lift then the gapey flat bit at the top of your breasts will get filled in better.

If you put your hands cupped under your breasts and lift them more or less as high as they will go - that is what a good bra will do for you.

WhereAreWeNow · 20/07/2021 18:14

Definitely time for a trip to the city and some good bra shops for some advice and a fitting. Different brands and styles are all so different. You just need to try lots on to find out what works for you. A balconette style in a different brand might work perfectly.

whistlers · 20/07/2021 18:17

Freya Deco and Freya Idol and Freya Demi

Try these before anything else!

66babe · 20/07/2021 21:07

Bloody hell @Haffiana if I cupped mine and pushed them up as high as they would go .. I'd be wearing them as earrings !!!

Wintercoffee · 20/07/2021 21:17

Rosie Huntington Whitely bra collection at Marks and Spencer give me a lovely shape and they’re sooooo comfy. Definitely worth the £2! I’ve got the black satin style the cups are lovely.

Wintercoffee · 20/07/2021 21:18

Sorry £25^^

EezyOozy · 20/07/2021 21:47

Thank you so much at the recommendations for specific bra types to look at for this kind of problem, I will definitely follow up on these! I think I might do a virtual fitting thing with professional bravissimo then in store when I get chance .
