Anyone used Vinted?

Have given loads of stuff to charity shops but have a few things still with labels I thought I might sell.

Anyone think it's worth it?

Yes, it's good! They don't take a fee and you have to add postage (which the buyer pays), so no one asking if postage is included. I'd think you'd do well with stuff with tags on.

sunshineandshowers21 · 16/07/2021 20:54

i’ve been using it for two weeks and made nearly £400! i was skeptical at first because of bad reviews but i find it really easy to use and i find that i’ve sold a variety of stuff. pretty much all my buyers have confirmed they’ve received their parcel straight away so i’ve received the money within about 4/5 days. i banked my balance two days ago and received it in my bank today. i like that you can use hermes too! so much easier that buggering about at the post office.

Dinnertime22 · 16/07/2021 20:56

Yes I have sold a couple of items. I have been impressed so far with it.
I have made a couple of purchases and again it has been fine.

DareIask · 16/07/2021 21:26

Ooo I'm even more keen to have a go now!
I assume Hermes collect then?

Yes, so easy to send things from my local shop and also pick up items there. I have a bit of a shopping addiction but I now sell things on Vinted then buy using my balance.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/07/2021 21:30

Yes its really easy to use, although slower to sell on than ebay.

huuuuunnnndderrricks · 16/07/2021 22:04

I do and it's fab , stuff always sells and they sort out the postage via Hermes . I drop stuff off to my local shop . So easy !

cherrypiepie · 17/07/2021 12:42

Yes I love it too! Hermes is great - drop at a shop. Need a printer for Hermes though.

Made about £300 this year

DareIask · 17/07/2021 12:52

Oh no... no printer. But am I right in thinking the shop might print? Isn't it a code?

OP posts:
cherrypiepie · 17/07/2021 12:59

No you can't print in shop unfortunately-it's a label you need to print at home and not in the shop (unless I am mistaken I did try the first time back in January and it don't work then - I was so confused Grin)

I print mine a work now or my mums.

DareIask · 17/07/2021 13:24

Thank you @cherrypiepie

I'll have to try and find where I can print it or another way else I'm going to be scuppered.

waitingforsun · 17/07/2021 14:24

You can use post office though. Don't have to use Hermes 👍

cherrypiepie · 17/07/2021 14:26

The only problem with royal
Mail is that it is not tracked and purchasers often always don't click to say they have revived and 'everything ok' so it's 4-6 weeks until you get paid which is very annoying.

DareIask · 17/07/2021 15:16

The Hermes website says you have a choice of 'print label' or receive a code to scan in the shop where they will print a label for you. Does this work with Vinted?

Don't fancy the post office option much

SeigneurLapindeGrantham · 17/07/2021 15:19

I've been using it for a couple of months and made few pounds. It's really straightforward but you do need to print the label yourself and then drop off at a hermes parcel shop.

Justonedayatatime11 · 17/07/2021 15:53

I've just put loads of Fairfax and Favor items on there along with some designer shoes/handbag. Lots of interests and 'favourites' but nothing sold yet

Finallybroody · 17/07/2021 18:40

I’ve sold one item on there for a fair price which was new with no tags. Love that there are no seller fees. It took a while for my item to sell about 1-2 weeks after getting a ton of ‘favourites’. Need to root through my wardrobe and find some other stuff to sell.

OP you have to print the label to use Hermes with Vinted, some retailers offer the print in store label but Vinted don’t.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 17/07/2021 18:44

FYI lots of people hate Hermes and it actively puts off people buying if they see that as the postage as they’re so shit.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 17/07/2021 23:23

You can offer both Hermes and royal mail. I think ups is also an option now.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 18/07/2021 11:42

I'd like to list a few things today for the first time. But how does shipping work? I see a lot on there for very little £. But then shipping says it's £0.00

Does the shipping come off the selling price? Say I sell a pair of shoes for £10 which are heavier than a normal shirt. I recently bought a pair of shoes from ebay and the woman only charged me £3.95 shipping. But she actually paid £11 to send them to me first class.

So if the shoes were £10 she essentially would have lost money. I paid £100 for them so it wasn't an issue for my Ebay seller. But I'm still just trying to figure out how Vinted works

sunshineandshowers21 · 18/07/2021 12:56

the shipping is in addition to the selling price. when a buyer buys something it prompts you to pick a parcel size so you pick the size appropriate to the item you’re sending and it gives you a price. you’ll then get the cost of item and the posting when the buyer confirms they’ve received the item. i use hermes so that i can just print the label and drop off at local shop for free.

schmalex · 18/07/2021 15:54

I love vinted! I used it loads when I lived in France (which was better as you could buy/sell across Europe so there was a lot of choice). I've found loads of bargains on there and it's very easy to sell too.

I would agree with this.
Finallybroody · 18/07/2021 16:42

When I sold my first item the buyer chose their method of postage and selected Hermes, I don’t remember selecting any particular option

There are postage options in your settings which you can use to select which carrier you will offer. The default is both Hermies and royal mail which I didn't realise and then had to trek to a Hermies drop off point.
