What can I wear on my legs that aren't jeans?

I can no longer wear jeans. A blood/skin condition is getting worse and anything that slightly rubs against me hurts. I've had jeans on today and I'm covered in hives Sad
Leggings don't hurt but I'm short and fat so don't wear them out of the house. I look terrible in joggers and chinos make my legs look like sausages. I also can't wear a belt as it gives me hives. I have a couple of pairs of Jersey wide leg trousers which are OK.

I like dresses/skirts with trainers when I'm wanting to be a bit smarter, but I don't know what to throw on when I'm running around to clubs, on school run etc.

I would love some ideas for soft, casual clothing that will look OK on a size 18 short arse!

It has taken me a few years to sort the clothes thing out.
I discovered robell trousers summer and winter weights.
They are not expensive and come in crop 7/8 or full length. At 5 2 i wear 7/8 and they are full size on me. Very comfortable and pull on. Forgiving and you may need to go done size .loads of colours denims etc available.
For smart trousers i buy joseph ribkoff. Not cheap but l last yrs. Check out sales.

I like the dungarees but I'm short and round. I'd look like an overgrown toddler Grin I also keep seeing the magic trousers ad on FB, don't think they're me.

I never think of Matalan either but on the rare occasion I go in do find things I like. The weird fish trousers look lovely and soft I'll try to find them to look at.

I'm sure I do too, but I embrace the comfiness 🤣 I get a lot of comments at work "oh they look so comfy" and I do wonder if they're thinly veiled digs, but then I feel like I'm in pjs all day so I really don't care 🤣

M&S have some stretch trousers that fit like leggings over the waist. www.marksandspencer.com/ponte-straight-leg-trousers/p/clp22469526?color=DARKNAVY&prevPage=srp#intid=prodColourId-22469526

Ulyssesfoot · 04/07/2021 08:23

I second the ones @LivingDeadGirlUK posted from M&S. I struggle with buttons and hems ( skin thing) and these are my work trousers. Love them.

Northernsoullover · 04/07/2021 08:27

I've got the black and the navy of the m and s trousers. Comfy but smart enough for work.

RestingStitchFace · 04/07/2021 09:30

How about a little skirt or dress with footless tights or leggings underneath?

What can I wear on my legs that aren't jeans?

Mountain Warehouse have a few different soft dresses with pockets.

Sitting here typing in this one:

Those M&S ones are worth a look, hard to tell from the picture but the description sounds like they might work.

I wear the 'Alice Joggers' from Euphoria Boutique all the time. I have them in 4 different designs and they are amazing. So comfortable and flattering.

TrexDrip · 04/07/2021 10:24

M & S tapered jersey trousers are amazing and I live in them. I have had other ones from different places but around £22 for the M & S ones and they last forever. I am similar shape and size and they have petite length which is perfect

EnglishGirlApproximately · 04/07/2021 11:10

@samandpoppysmummy I have the plain denim ones of those and while they are really comfy I'm finding they aren't going to last long. The pockets are tiny too which is a shame as I really want to love them!

Off to M&S and Next today to check out some of the recommendations. If I have no luck I'll order some of the other suggestions. Thanks all Smile

I think wide trousers ( not to wide ) look best i never wear cropped being 5ft 3 never look quite right, they make me look stumpy, I wear them with a flat shoe or trainer.

Squiz81 · 04/07/2021 18:14

I’ve got these cuffed trousers from fatface. They are comfy and the kind of trouser you can dress up/down

I have a pair of hoerev harem pants from Amazon, they're very soft.

ElspethFlashman · 04/07/2021 18:30

If I only had one type of thing to wear on my bottom half for the rest of my life it would be M&S Jersey trousers.

Like pyjamas, but respectable.

BlibBlabBlob · 04/07/2021 18:33

Try searching at Next online for jersey jeans. I have some men's ones which feel like leggings but look like jeans. Proper deep pockets too as they are intended for men! You could always buy the shortest leg length and either tailor or just roll the hems up.

Bertiebiscuit · 05/07/2021 19:32

Maybe buy some high quality soft non running leggings and wear them alone with a long top or under short skirts or dresses - I don't see why a short woman can't wear all of these styles - and your health matters

Bertiebiscuit · 05/07/2021 19:33

I meant "non rubbing" leggings
