TBF my favourite work dress is from Gap - everyone thought is was a Victoria Beckham one when I bought it for 12.99 in the sale!

Oh no, it's shutting! The ludicrous offers and discounts have been a sign that all is not well recently.

Yeah I did think it was getting a bit sus all the sales and offers!

I knew they were closing another 19 stores but all of them? Gutted. Will be stocking up on my everyday t-shirts and vests.

They don't deliver to my address either. Wonder if they will improve their delivery service if online is the only option to shop with them.

I love their jeans.

Baby and toddler Gap was great.

Oh no! We only had one open at the new designer outlet village in our town about 2 months ago.
It’s my favourite shop there.

We had an Outlet branch near us for a few years (has been closed about 2y now). I liked the stuff but I hated the pricing.

So many shelf edges with 40%/50%/60% off but then various things OJ the same shelf not then in the offer.

It was like pot luck when you got to the til.

They have been all sales and discounts for years though. I'm amazed they carried on as long as they did.

It’s a shame but this has been known for a long time. I knew last summer (I’m in retail). I’m really sad as it fits Ds so well.

I must admit I've wondered for ages of they were in trouble. Every email from them was offering discounts and sales. I was really surprised to hear this though, especially that the outlet stores were also closing. I know they are going online but it's the faff of ordering and sending back of it doesn't fit. If better try and get to our local one - it seems to be the only place I can get a navy t shirt at the moment.

yes, the design of their website is awful.

I could never quite get over their use of child labour years ago so haven’t bought from them for a long time but from what I’ve seen the quality was pretty poor. No great loss to the high street IMO, though obviously awful for their employees.

It's a real pity. I remember about 15 years ago when Gap used to be brilliant. It does seem to have been in gradual decline for a long while. So sad to lose another big name from the High Street

Tbh, I thought they already had. The big store in Manchester closed a few years ago and they then moved to a horrible scruffy unit in the Arndale. I always used to pop in at lunchtime but stopped then.

They deliver very quickly online though. Bought quite a lot this spring.

Gap online will be a disaster. I'm a different size every time I shop there - the sizing is so inconsistent.

Oh dear, I enjoyed visiting Baby Gap when my DC were little. That's another empty store in our high street.

TBH I didn't realise they were still going. Thought they had gone around the time of Sweater shop &. Benetton

I love Gap so will have to shop online. Their modern t shirts and long sleeves are the best! Also love their leggings etc

Everlane is the new Gap. Good quality basics imo. Online only in UK though atm.
