Hey all. I’ve been battling to accept my natural wavy hair for years now. Weirdly I always wore it wavy and liked it and then a comment from someone made me paranoid that I look bad. On a windy rainy day though I have no chance of keeping it straight and am trying to accept my fate! Do I look ok?
I’m really struggling with body dysmorphia at the moment and having hospital help for it so please be kind.

Re her hair, she irons it poker straight. It naturally has a kink. I haven’t spoken to her in years.

Just found your thread while I've got my hair in plaits so I wake up with a bit of a wave by morning . I honestly wouldn't fight your natural waves and embrace them. They are lovely. Everyone I know with curly or wavy hair looks far better when they work with rather than against their curls. Sorry you are battling body dysmorphia. It sounds a very tough condition to live with.

Your hair looks like I try and get mine to look! I’m wavy too and do mostly curly girl but with weekly shampoo otherwise it’s too greasy.

I think your sister may be projecting her hair frustrations onto you! Keep the waves! Perhaps try experimenting with colour as suggested upthread.

My hairdresser tells me to twist my hair around my fingers when it’s wet into maybe four or five ringlets around my head. When it’s dry I can shake it or take it lightly with my fingers. This means that any frizz is contained.
She also tells me to avoid anything with silicone or dimethicone. I love Windle shampoo and conditioner but I’m sure there are other non silicone products if you’re on a tight budget. I notice Ocado Hane started stocking some products so if you use them and fancy a treat I recommend the fortifying or ultra nourishing shampoo and conditioner. I love their curl creme though which you put and leave on damp hair. www.windlelondon.com/shop/curl-enhancer/

Looks fine to me. Don't let anyone rain on your parade.
