Where should I look?

here you go, if you are close enough the shop fitting is amazing, better than all the top end stores I've been to. But can order online or over the phone too DD+

lilimarleen · 17/06/2021 08:03

They look great but £85+ for a bra is too expensive. I'm happy to spend up to £40

Never thought I’d say this but I’ve just found the holy grail of strapless bra in Sainsbury’s of all places - 2 plain white and black for £14. Doesn’t budge and perfect support (E!!!) Not sure about the rest of their bras but more inclined to give them a go now for decent support.

DocsOddSocks · 17/06/2021 08:06

@SoTiredNeedHoliday Wow, they're expensive 🙈

Pour Moi do some nice ones Smile

Dinnaehinksae · 17/06/2021 08:06

I recently used curvy Kate for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. They're not a pricey as some other places but the fit and support is much better than I had expected. My only issue was the boning in the sides which was a bit uncomfortable the first few wears but is fine now.

That sounds perfect! Would you mind linking to it please?

Also have used Freya and Fantasie brands which are really supportive and pretty bras, might hit your budget of £40 but the sales can be good. I’ve found them in John Lewis and also independent bra shops (sadly so few and far between these days.)

MissSmiley · 17/06/2021 08:09

A bra fitting service is your best bet, I went on Saturday and got fitted with the most comfortable bra I have ever had, ordered it in another colour too, only £36, I'm 32FF but it's the fitting that's important for comfort

GappyValley · 17/06/2021 08:11

Panache Porcelain t-shirt bra is the absolute most comfortable bra in the world

You can buy them from Bravissimo but also eBay sellers have them half price (new stock) quite often

Whyarewehardofthinking · 17/06/2021 08:12

I'll seconded Curvy Kate. I have a disproportionately large chest and I haven't spend more than £30 on a bra since discovering them.

TDMN · 17/06/2021 08:18

Curvy Kate
Pour Moi
ASOS (they do loads of choice for DD+, reviews and free returns. I dont rate their own brand range but a lot of the ones on this list are there and its really easy to search by size)
Gossard
Freya
Fantasie
Figleaves via SimplyBe
I am on a bra buying ban but hear good things about the Sainsburys range

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 17/06/2021 08:20

The Freya Idol is my every day go to, supportive, comfy and gives a great shape under clothes. I really recommend getting to a Bravissimo if you can, they were amazingly helpful for me, and had so many styles to try.

HollywoodTease · 17/06/2021 08:22

I'm a 38J. I used to use Debenhams, their own-brand were a good fit f op me. Since their demise I have been ordering from Brastop, they stock lots of brands at good prices.

Bra stop or the Lingerie outlet looks for the brand's recommend above e.g. Freya, Curvy Kate.

WeAreTheHeroes · 17/06/2021 08:32

I'd echo Brastop too - they have a great range and often have discounts and sales. I like Freya bras and have also bought a pour moi bikini from them.

Time2b33 · 17/06/2021 08:32

Bravissimo

bigbaggyeyes · 17/06/2021 08:38

Triumph Amourette come in larger cup sizes. I've worn these for years

The Freya Deco is my "normal clothes" bra but for work or running I wear a Syrokan sports bra from Amazon.

TheSockMonster · 17/06/2021 09:11

I read the title of this thread as “I need a nice supportive Dear Daughter + a bra” #lifegoals

I think I need to go back to caffeinated coffee Blush

Anyway, Molke always seem to get recommended on here for big boobs. Not particularly sexy, but that may not be important.

Bravissimo. Am currently wearing my brand new pink Bravissimo Millie bra and it is the nuts (I am very well endowed in that dept).

But, seriously, they have a great range of beautiful bras, fantastic help on hand (either in store or online) and they are in your price range. If you can, I'd advise getting to one of their shops, tell them what you are looking for, they will give you a load of suitable bras to try on, come and advise on fit and bingo - the only problem is that you end up coming away with loads more bras that you initially wanted as they are all so gorgeous.

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 17/06/2021 09:19

I'm a 40G and only wear Elomi bras. About £40 each although they have regular sales, the fit is incredible and it doesn't feel like I'm wearing a bra. I had a professional bra fitting done and it was life changing.

This!

Or, if you want to save money and don't mind the faff of ordering online, trying to work out what fits well and returning the rest, measure yourself using the Boob or Bust method and order from any of these: www.booborbust.com/dd-bra-retailers/

Orf1abc · 17/06/2021 09:43

The way to get a nice supportive bra in any size is to make sure you're wearing the right size. Have a look at the Boob or Bust site above, or go to a decent shop (not M&S) and get fitted.
