To a wedding in a couple of weeks' time? I've just bought it and now less sure - has anyone used Wolf & Badger much, and do sizes come up as the measurements say?

It's very inoffensive. Even the model looks miserable in it.

Sooverthemill · 16/06/2021 13:50

It's very wedding guesty. I don't like it for me ( but I am not you). As far as I know wolf and badger is okay size wise

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 13:53

Inoffensive is ok with me. I won't look miserable but agree with the comment. I have gone through all the wedding guest posts on here, clicked on the links and can't find anything I like. Hate patterns, and anything fussy. Hi @Sooverthemill I used to be on the ongoing thread as Lobsterquadrille, so I am fairly conservative in style.

It’s very classically wedding-y, safe and non offensive and nice

Cinni23 · 16/06/2021 14:05

I think its really nice and perfect for a wedding. Would def need heels. I couldn't wear it as it would make me look pregnant but if I didn't have a tummy I would def wear it.

CocoandCleo · 16/06/2021 14:06

I agree, it's very simple and inoffensive but as you say if that's what you're looking for it is perfect Smile it is perfect for a wedding if that's the kind of thing you're after

PurpleBirch · 16/06/2021 14:06

I like it- perfect for a wedding.

Lan2020 · 16/06/2021 14:12

I'm personally not keen. Quite a nice colour and the fitted style is quite nice but not keen on the upper half. However it would be suitable for a wedding and it's just a case of having differing tastes.

dontgobaconmyheart · 16/06/2021 14:16

I think its perfectly pleasant, albeit a little dated and IMO, looks cheaper than the actual cost of it. Personally I'd not want to wear something so strictured and formal to a summer wedding, I imagine it'd be unforgiving on knicker and bra lines and any wedding scoffing bloat- but obviously not everyone is as focused on the buffet at a wedding as i am.

Granted i've not been to a wedding in a year due to covid but the only people i've seen prior to that in structured formal pencil type dresses at summer weddings are mothers of the bride etc, which is not an insult so much as an observation, they do look lovely on.

Ruthietuthie · 16/06/2021 14:17

I think it would be perfect for what you describe. If you love the shape, could you be tempted by the same dress in the orange with the print? It is a little bit more stand-out, I think. (I know you said you didn't like prints...)
I like the dress either way.

mrsrobin · 16/06/2021 14:21

Bit bland, but fine really.I would worry about spilling something on it!!!

Sunshineandflipflops · 16/06/2021 14:22

I wouldn't wear it as I'm not keen on the colour (bit wishy washy) and also because as a size 12-14 i wouldn't be able to carry it off but I think if you look like the model (or don't but feel comfortable in it) then it's fine for a wedding.

Sunshineandflipflops · 16/06/2021 14:23

Ooh, I also prefer the oriental print orange one. Lovely for a summer wedding.

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 14:25

Thank you for the comments. I'm not that sure either. I wanted to get something and had exhausted most options. I can always send it back .... haven't been to a wedding for (obviously) ages and suddenly two come along in the same week, both family so can't wear the same outfit. Appreciate that it is maybe safer than even I wanted.

OP posts:
mrsrobin · 16/06/2021 14:54

Actually I love the oriental print one!

Then it's perfect for you! I remember your outfits and agree it fits beautifully with your style. Go for it!
ShirleyDab · 16/06/2021 14:58

I really like it. It's the kind of thing I go for. unfussy and classy.
Perfect for a wedding guest, I'd say.

Sooverthemill · 16/06/2021 14:59

Have you looked on jigsaw or whistles ? Both have sakes on. As do ghost. They may help. Two weddings seems stressful. I have DD1s in a month ( after a hellish time Monday night) and have finally gone with a jigsaw dress. I couldn't cope with a second wedding this year! If it helps my mum had one outfit for any wedding. She was super stylish in her time

TooManyAnimals94 · 16/06/2021 15:03

Love the style...hate the colour. Flattering shape Smile

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 15:05

Thank you @Sooverthemill. Yes, tried Jigsaw (which I love), Whistles, SilkFred, John Lewis, various sites I found on here that I hadn't heard of. I'm only aunt of both bride/groom at these weddings, thankfully, not mother. Does hellish time on Monday mean that your DD isn't well again (sorry if that's intrusive)? Hope that all is well with you all.

OP posts:
HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 15:06

The only other one I liked was this, and DD said "I'd need to see it on" which is her polite version of "God, please no".

It's very traditional and very conservative (even though it's bodycon) for me plus I really dislike the colour (the teal, red oriental print and cobalt options are all miles better).

But if it suits your style and your colouring then it's absolutely fine for a wedding.

Mostly, I suspect I would look like a busted uncooked Richmond sausage in it so am envious of your figure 🤣

mrsrobin · 16/06/2021 15:14

I really like your other choice OP :)

EllaPaella · 16/06/2021 16:15

I love the second one but knowing your lovely figure and style @HuntingoftheSnark you would look lovely in either

lazylinguist · 16/06/2021 16:38

I think it's lovely! I hate fussy stuff too. I'd wear that to a wedding if I had the figure for it. I like the colour too, although pink isn't a colour I usually wear.
