To a wedding in a couple of weeks' time? I've just bought it and now less sure - has anyone used Wolf & Badger much, and do sizes come up as the measurements say?

I like it . If it is what you suit definitely get it .
I do not like pale colours on me but if you suit them 👍🏻

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 17:02

Waves @EllaPaella ! That's very kind especially from you, but over a year of WFH and basically living in pyjamas has made my confidence deteriorate I think! I've bought both dresses and they should arrive later this week so I'll figure it out then.

... and thank you all for the very polite comments, which are making me think that dress one is maybe too safe. I'm nearly 52 and I know, it shouldn't make a difference but I don't want to look silly.

I’m not fond of the neckline and couldn’t find anything on the description which told me what it’s made of apart from “ crepe” - if it’s polyester/ synthetic I’d say it’s too expensive and I’m guessing it’s not silk crepe as they’d have that in the title not hidden away. . If it fits and you like it then fine, but not something I would choose.

justanotherneighinparadise · 16/06/2021 17:11

I like it!

Watchingthetelly · 16/06/2021 17:18

I love your second dress! The Wolf and Badger dress is simple and elegant. I'd suggest a hat if you were to go with it as your choice, and it will need gorgeous shoes.

I really hope you like the second dress when it arrives... I want to wear it myself

BlueLobelia · 16/06/2021 17:21

I like it and imagine it would look very elegant on someone who is taller and slimmer than me. 'busted Richmond sausage' would describe me as well!

Love your DD's polite response to the other one (which I also like!)

HelenHywater · 16/06/2021 17:27

What's your colouring, maybe we can help you?

(I'm envious of you going out out to a wedding - I would love an excuse to buy a nice frock)

Anyway I like this purple sezane dress

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 18:07

I'm blonde, 5 foot 8, nearly 52, mainly wear plain colours (not patterns), blues and pinks in summer. Red looks awful on me. I do like that purple dress linked as well - but will try on the other two before buying any more.

Make sure you've got the right undies and support if needed, looks very unforgiving

CommanderBurnham · 16/06/2021 18:24

It's gorgeous. Sleek, clean lines, elegant and formal.

Make sure it fits perfectly though.

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 18:32

If the measurements per the website are true to size, I will be ok. I wouldn't mind a bit more shape anyway. The undergarment advice is good though!

Cocolapew · 16/06/2021 18:49

I like it but do prefer the print and bright blue one better. Its perfect for a wedding.

Pieceofpurplesky · 16/06/2021 19:35

I am the same age as you and I wouldn't wear the dress (I am a lot bigger than you so couldn't but even if I could I wouldn't).

I think it would age you as it's a bit 80s power dress - white stilettos
And dancing round a handbag.

Blueballinthegarden · 16/06/2021 19:37

It’s nice enough, I think the only thing I might do is double check what colour the bridal party are wearing the avoid a clash as pastel pinks can be popular.

Blueballinthegarden · 16/06/2021 19:39

Your second choice looks lovely too :)-

DrWankincense · 16/06/2021 19:41

I really like the first dress. Lovely colour, you can easily add to it if you wanted, I'd possibly go for a brooch.

Cluckycluck · 16/06/2021 19:42

I actually like the style of the first dress but I think it needs to be a different colour. Something brighter would make it much nicer and less 'blah'

HuntingoftheSnark · 16/06/2021 20:15

There's not really a bridal party ... but I will message my niece the bride, good point.

That pale pink will either suit you or wash you out completely. I'd have thought it better on a brunette.

If you super slim you could look great in it.

Post a pic of it on when you get it.

The fushia flamenco one could be really fabulous on you. I'm blonde and I find a stronger pink really suits me. Wishy washy pinks I have to be careful with.

MayflowerMaisie · 16/06/2021 20:33

Looks amazing in the orange!

dudsville · 16/06/2021 21:15

Wolf and badger aren't a brand I don't think, it's a collection of brands, so sizing will be unpredictable but you could visit the site or the brand of dress and get more of an understanding of how they run. Anyway, you have ordered already so that's unhelpful!

I think your first dress is very pretty, classic. The second is more fun. I just wanted to say you could consider wearing the same dress twice, to both weddings. It's so cool when people do this!

Mrsmophead · 16/06/2021 23:44

I love it! Very elegant. Hair done, make up, all the accessories it would really dress it up.

Vohgue · 16/06/2021 23:44

I like both. The first pink one will definitely suit you as long as the neckline sits well.
Could you please tell me where the second pink dress is from?

notthemum · 16/06/2021 23:57

I am not a dress person, but I like it a lot. I might look at the other colours though. Unless you have been asked to wear that one. They all seem cheaper too.
