Clogs? Does anyone wear them?

I'm so tempted by these Penelope Chilvers clogs. Having never worn or been drawn to them before I have no idea if they'll make me look like a flower powered hippie or if they're comfy.

Any thoughts?

I wore these lotta of Stockholm a few years back and remember them being really comfortable ( I wore them with bellbottom jeans). I have a pair of high Swedish Hasbeens but they are murder on the feet and I've only worn them once. Must think of selling them on.

I have a pair of clogs from Lotta of Stockholm, love them but they do take some getting used to an at first they really rubbed the tops of my toes to horrible blisters, lots of Vaseline and half trainer socks just to cover my toes and I can wear them all day. Wear these more with jeans and cropped trousers

Also bought a pair of strapped low heal Swedish hasbeens, you can tell the difference (Hasbeens are more expensive) with the leather and these are very comfy to wear and more 'dressy' I wear these more with boho dresses and the like

Sadly where I live now I can not wear either, I would break my neck!

The other brand that is comfortable is Moheda. Toast did some Toast/Moheda branded clogs a couple of summers ago and I bought a flat pair (also with rubber inset on the sole) and a 2 inch heel pair. Really comfy and no rubbing.

I once wore some red ones to my son’s assembly when he was 10. He is now 41 and still goes on about how embarrassed he was!

Bertiebiscuit · 06/03/2022 17:52

Awful - that's a hard no from me - uncomfortable, clodhoppy, fall off your feet and look childish 😒

mdh2020 · 06/03/2022 18:40

I wear Sketchers backless trainers and love them and live in them.

If you like them - buy them! Wear them knowing/thinking everyone is admiring them and wishing they owned them. It’s your money.

@Floisme

I used to wear them with long skirts and a shawl so I'm probably not the best person to advise on styling them. But I did love them and they were supremely comfortable - unless you needed to run, in which case you were screwed.
Same here.

I quite like these

My mother wears them with colourful Gudrun Sjoden tents...I mean dresses Grin. she looks magnificent - a well built 70 year old with long white hair.Personally I wouldn't wear them.

Sweetandsaltycaroline · 06/03/2022 23:08

I had a pair of pink suede clogs in the early 2000s. I loved them.

MamaButterfly · 07/03/2022 00:26

I adore my PC clogs! I find them v comfy, can drive in them and they go with everything from skirts, shorts, denim to long floaty summer dresses. Mine are the same height heel but the black leather embroidered ones from a few seasons ago so slight different colour thread but same shoes as ones you’re considering. Give them a chance. You won’t regret it 😀 penelopechilvers.com/products/low-embroidered-leather-clog-multi

I read somewhere that Brian May (of Queen) often wears clogs.

Laufeythejust · 07/03/2022 00:46

I bought a lovely pair and went out for a few drinks in them. I have never been in as much pain from footwear in my life I had blisters upon blisters and the sole of my foot was so sore because of how hard they were. I drunkenly threw them straight in the outside bin when I got home.

vjg13 · 07/03/2022 18:05

I love the look of clogs but find them awful to walk in, I keep trying though!

Supersimkin2 · 07/03/2022 20:58

I’ve got the slightly higher heeled version of these very PCs.

Hard no - tricky to walk in.

Wagsandclaws · 07/03/2022 21:18

I've just bought the tan ones from m and s - I'll test them out as I'm fussy about comfortable shoes and I have a feeling they might not work for me.

I have a vision of a hot summer day with a hippy floaty floral dress, tanned legs and a straw bag and my tan coloured clogs ... it's probably not going to work I don't think but one can dream Grin
