Coolest big-arse clumpy sandals for £100ish

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 04/06/2021 08:06

I require a pair of this year's big clumpy black sandals to wear as my summer shoes. I'm wanting edgy and cool, and also flat and walkable.

Which ones would you get? Could go up to £100 or so, I reckon.

Or any of the rest of the Dr Marten range www.office.co.uk/view/search?search=dr+marten+sandals&page=1

DMs are always a classic! Those first ones do look really good, thanks.

I love the DMs - bought a pair last year but they're very very heavy. Reluctantly I sent them back. Sad

Tuckedinbelly · 04/06/2021 08:26

I like the DMs. I just bought some quilted strap sandals from Mango but maybe not clumpy enough. Platform Tevas?

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 04/06/2021 08:29

&OtherStories have these ones which I guess are lighter? I do like the jagged DM sole though.

Get yourself ok Arket, they have a lot of chunky stylish sandals and are the home to understated Scandi cool girl fashion

thisplaceisweird · 04/06/2021 08:32

On Arket*

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 04/06/2021 08:42

Arket have these ones or these ones, but are they cooler than the DMs? I'm not sure. Maybe the second pair.

The rest is mostly Tevas, which, sorry, no.

The second link just goes to the main website. The first pair are hideous!

EllaPaella · 04/06/2021 10:05

I have the black DM Mackaye sandals and they are really comfortable despite being so clumpy.

JemIsMyNameNooneElseIsTheSame · 04/06/2021 10:15

I bought these last week. Similar feel to the DM ones, but the leather is much softer and a lighter weight sole. Nice and chunky and v.comfortable!

I love those Arket ones too. I can't do anything with an ankle strap though as they do my cankles no favours Grin

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 04/06/2021 10:26

Hmm, both the Arket links work for me. Weird.

Decisions, decisions... Fortunately this style suits my style generally, which is kind of Avant Garde gamine. And I walk a LOT.

I prefer the second pair of Arket ones, they are lovely

cmonarrycmon · 04/06/2021 13:59

I've just bought DMs Voss 2. They are much lighter than traditional DM sandals, have taken zero time to wear in and I can walk for miles in them.

Tuckedinbelly · 04/06/2021 14:15

Ooh I like the Voss!

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 04/06/2021 14:16

I like the first DM sandals very much, but they seem to be sold out in every size below 7.

Will check out the Voss.

ASOS has some. I've ordered the big chunky Voss quad.

OnGoldenPond · 04/06/2021 22:12

Check the Dr Martens official site they have a lot more stock

I also like the Arket ones, but have the same problem with cankle straps. Clogs with a bit of a platform is the closest I can get.
thisplaceisweird · 05/06/2021 00:01

Arket definitely cooler than Doc martens to answer your question OP!

Doc martens are either childish or frumpy, depending on how old you like. Rarely worn by the fashion crowd.

thisplaceisweird · 05/06/2021 00:02

Old you look*

EllaPaella · 05/06/2021 00:27

😂😂

EllaPaella · 05/06/2021 00:29

Who are the fashion crowd? Out of interest

thisplaceisweird · 05/06/2021 00:59

People who work in fashion, have a real interest in fashion and are known for being particularly stylish... Never heard of that phrase before?
