Coolest big-arse clumpy sandals for £100ish

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 04/06/2021 08:06

I require a pair of this year's big clumpy black sandals to wear as my summer shoes. I'm wanting edgy and cool, and also flat and walkable.

Which ones would you get? Could go up to £100 or so, I reckon.

I love my dm voss - I think the newer ones with the stitching are even nicer!
They are really comfortable and I get loads of wear out of them.

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 05/06/2021 09:27

Arket it is then - I'm not that big on "vegan leather" anyway.

I was surprised Cos didn't have anything in this style this season.

The second Arket pair. Avoid all the DMs.

Tuckedinbelly · 05/06/2021 09:47

Nothing wrong with DMs! Arket ones nice but less big ass clumpy and more gladiator

Buggerthebotox · 05/06/2021 09:56

Courtesy of this thread, I now have these following me round:

I quite like them...

Ooh those Clarks ones are lovely

Seesawmummadaw · 05/06/2021 10:24

I have dm sandals. I am fashion.

EllaPaella · 05/06/2021 10:28

Me too @Seesawmummadaw GrinNot part of the fashion crowd though sadly...

Buggerthebotox · 05/06/2021 12:11

Nor me ellapaella Grin. Just off to Clarks...

I tried these, which are maybe a bit too big-arse and clumpy.

I would have kept them though if the strap ends hadn't curled up; they were very comfy, not too heavy

OnGoldenPond · 05/06/2021 14:05

Well looks like I'm going to be frowned on by the fashion crowd cos I love DMs and have ordered some of those sandals.

Not really sure why we should care what a bunch of people in the fash biz dictate to us anyway - bugger that!

OnGoldenPond · 05/06/2021 14:08

@nevertrustaherdofcows those look really nice though the soles are a bit thick for me, I would probably get vertigo! Grin

RampantIvy · 05/06/2021 14:08

DD (20) has those Doc Martens in the first link and finds them extremely confortable. She doesn't follow fashion and just has her own style.

OnGoldenPond · 05/06/2021 14:27

They're the ones I ordered @RampantIvy though in leather and through the Dr Martens site as they have more in stock. Glad to hear they are comfortable.

JemIsMyNameNooneElseIsTheSame · 05/06/2021 15:20

For those considering the Clarks ones, do it! Have been wearing them all week - very comfortable, bit of height, bit of chunkiness - love them.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 05/06/2021 16:09

Hahahaha ds’s mate is in fashion (darling) and she wears the dm sandals. She’s young enough and cool enough for them.
She’s a designer.
I love them but fear at 45 and slightly overweight is just look silly in them.

Buggerthebotox · 05/06/2021 16:20

@JemIsMyNameNooneElseIsTheSame: are the Clarks fairly lightweight?

OnGoldenPond · 05/06/2021 16:56

@UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter do it, don't be scared!

I'm 50s and chubby but I've worn DMs all my life. Comfort without the old lady vibe! Maybe I do look a bit mutton but past caring! Grin

Really looking forward to getting my DM sandals now, no doubt DD will be like this Hmm

Mumsnut · 05/06/2021 18:19

Thank you Toolazy - have snapped those up

Also some hideously expensive Marni ones that have just gone into the Matches sale

Am hoping the HM ones win

BuffySummersReportingforSanity · 05/06/2021 19:47

The H&M ones are definitely not my thing Grin I need a back strap for one thing, I'm way past wearing shoes that won't fucking stay on my feet.

I hope the Arket ones are comfortable. Will report back as/when I order them.

OP posts:
UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 05/06/2021 20:03

@OnGoldenPond that will be 15yr old dd’s face as well. I’m going to order them on ASOS. I can always return them if I don’t like them after all then. Thanks for the encouragement.

Seesawmummadaw · 06/06/2021 10:59

@EllaPaella

Me too *@Seesawmummadaw* GrinNot part of the fashion crowd though sadly...
@EllaPaella I’ve admired your other thread, you are the crowd!
Readyorknot · 06/06/2021 11:13

I bought similar from H&M and they are ace

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 06/06/2021 11:28

I have various things from koi and despite the clunky look, they are very light and comfortable. Haven't tried their sandals yet though.

I really like these, but they don't have them in black.
