Jumpsuit

Does anyone fancy a challenge? I'm a fussy customer 😂 and can't find what I'm looking for jumpsuit wise

  • Weight gain has me at a size 18 ish, most weight around stomach but health problems have me very bloated in general so I don't like tight and am very self conscious
  • I love black, red, purple, bold pink. No pastels
  • 36gg
  • I would like full length ( no culottes) wide leg trousers. I love palazzo pants
  • I would like it to be removable without another adult being present so no back fastenings or zips to get out of it
  • shirred tends to suit me, but bust Always a problem
  • sensory issues with clothes, no frills, no frou frou, no off the shoulder.
  • nice breathable fabric, cool
  • I'm not adverse to patterns. Some flowers are nice, it very much depends
  • I'm the kind of person who favours comfort and would buy another in a different colour if I like it. I've just bought 3 identical bras in different colours
  • I can't emphasise this enough. I do not follow fashion, never have. I dress my style, alternative, individual, and favour charity shops so I can get unique items *will consider any price up to 150 if its amazing

I've enclosed 3 pictures of ones I like to give an idea of taste. They either have zips or are culotte style.

Would love some ideas if anyone felt the need

I've so many questions but this isn't the thread for them!

Has your jumpsuit arrived?

Tomorrow is trying things on day. I think.

AnnieSnap · 10/06/2021 22:19

@Myshitisreal It arrived this afternoon. I’ve been busy, so haven’t tried in on yet.

Myshitisreal · 10/06/2021 22:50

That was quick, I await. Good luck!

I couldn’t believe how quick it was! 1-1/2 days!
BakeOffRewatch · 11/06/2021 08:56

I tried on this one in the shop yesterday. Saw it linked to on another thread here. Very tight around postpartum tum and not well stitched, loose ends and zip sewn over. And it’s £50! www.zara.com/uk/en/wrap-jumpsuit-with-belt-p01971087.html

I bought this one from Sainsbury’s, the print means awkward bits aren’t shown up. I love it and am looking for similar. tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Monochrome-Print-Jersey-Cropped-Leg-Jumpsuit-/138689795-Mono They had some in other prints but sold out now.

Look forward to the reviews here! I’ve given up on online ordering myself, getting hopes up and then having to return.

Right. Finally!

Star jumpsuit....
www.next.co.uk/style/st658256/960141#960141
Absolutely the best thing I've ever bought. Love it...... I tried the navy one on with lightning bolts, same brand, just wasnt as nice on.

Camoflague shirt
www.next.co.uk/style/ls197947/P31029#P31029
Really like this shirt. Bought it oversized intentionally. The 3/4 length sleeves are new to me. Winter or summer friendly. It's quite a heavy shirt by comparison.

Leopard dress
www.next.co.uk/style/ls214864/P49563#P49563
Very comfortable but it is missing pockets. Nice flowy cool material. Could probably wear the smaller size. My husband laughed, said I came in grinning with this one on. Very me, even though its against all mumsnet rules

Flowery trousers
www.next.co.uk/g8681s4/406775?_br_psugg_q=black+floral+trousers#406775
The pattern is quite girly for me but I'll ruin it with something skull based. Very comfy and a great length, proper long. I've ordered these in khaki now (in process)

Black shirred dress
www.next.co.uk/g86538s1/481867#481867
This was a red herring. Really lovely material, pockets. That weird length below the knee I don't usually wear. I would reorder in a small size if they had but they don't. Husband was thrown by this one as well, said its not like anything I usually wear but he did like it. He's very good at being honest about what suits me. It does look better with a belt under the empire line for more definition

Black Adidas gazelles
www.next.co.uk/style/st428332/436749#436749
Wearing these now to see how they feel. I have real trouble getting shoes to be perfect. Usually great at first then hurts after a while but the signs are good. I just like the fact that I would wear them with anything
Today in sending them back. They're too close to my toes. Going to start a new thread for trainers 😁

The mint velvet khaki jumpsuit was horrendous, it cut my body of at the wrong point. I need to understand the shape of my body better I think.

I've it all packed up ready to be collected tomorrow. I also got the cutest trainer socks

In the previous post, I'm wearing a jumpsuit sent to me by @zgaze. It's a size 18 oasis and a tiny bit tight around the waist but I think it will fit better after a few weeks exercise and intermittent fasting. Thank you again for your awesome kindness to a stranger, it's one of the nicest things that anyone's done for me in a long time ♥

I would still be in the market for one more if I can find one to meet all my criteria

I love the star jumpsuit! What was different about the bolt one? Just the print or shape and fabric too?

You look great! Love the leopard dress on you.

Myshitisreal · 16/06/2021 22:29

Awk thanks ♥

What was different? It was the same material, it just fit me in a slightly different way and was the tiniest bit shorter which looked stupid . This is always my problem though, pyjama bottoms always seem to be too short and some trousers. My husband has commented on it as well. I suspect I've a short body and longer legs.

The leopard dress is great, makes me very happy!

I'll look for monki thanks. I don't think we have them in Northern Ireland.

That jumpsuit is nice but the high neck would be unflattering with my chest size. Thank you though! It's the full length makes it harder it seems. Everything is culottes

I love the diversity of the asos models. Big thumbs up.

@Rina66 and @Myshitisreal, the Mana Mou jumpsuit is great. Very casual, but so cool and comfortable for everyday wear. I like it so much that I’ve just ordered another one in Khaki and that’s not really my colour 🤨 I really want Navy, but it’s out of stock ☹️

Myshitisreal · 17/06/2021 01:10

Oooo I revisited all the jumpsuits tonight and was wondering how you got on. How is the fit?

Have you also looked at Lucy and Yak OP?

Not for everyone but interesting prints, bold colours and simple shapes

Oh wow @AnnieSnap I'm so pleased, it's horrible recommending things but those jumpsuits at £22 are such a bargain and look so much more expensive. I buy them for friends birthday presents too, which is a definite bonus of one size, so it's probably my fault that you can't get a navy one! They do usually restock the basics, I just do the 'email me when back in stock' alert thing on the site.

I tried to find the ‘email me when back in stock’, but couldn’t see it anywhere! 🤷‍♀️

It’s surprisingly good. I’m a 16/18. I think it would also fit a true 18. They don’t look like much on the hanger, but are surprisingly stylish on! At £22 each, they are pretty amazing. 🙂
Rina66 · 17/06/2021 14:47

I've just gone on to check the Manamou back in stock notification @AnnieSnap, once you've clicked on the product you want and it just brings up that pic, it's a black oblong box on the far right of the screen - I agree, it is easy to miss.

Myshitisreal · 17/06/2021 15:14

I do really like Lucy and yak but they're all thar weird length in not keen on sadly. Thank you!

Ill put a notification on the black mana mou thanks

OP posts:
Myshitisreal · 17/06/2021 15:17

I was kind of keen on this but can't work the length out. That particular model is the same height as me abd it looks cullotey

That doesn't look culottey to me, but also not floor sweeping..

Myshitisreal · 17/06/2021 17:06

I just wish the manufacturers would be clearer sometimes.

I spend so long looking for various bits of information - is there a fastening or zip to open, where is it? are they full length or cullote style. Very few even list the lengths.

OP posts:
Draculaswedding · 17/06/2021 17:29

Rina66. I haven’t come across mana mou before. I love the look of the short sleeve cheesecloth jumpsuits. Do you think the fabric will cling to bum/hips? I’m 5‘ and size 12/14 with a short waist. Do you have any clue how it might fit?
