Jumpsuit

Does anyone fancy a challenge? I'm a fussy customer 😂 and can't find what I'm looking for jumpsuit wise

  • Weight gain has me at a size 18 ish, most weight around stomach but health problems have me very bloated in general so I don't like tight and am very self conscious
  • I love black, red, purple, bold pink. No pastels
  • 36gg
  • I would like full length ( no culottes) wide leg trousers. I love palazzo pants
  • I would like it to be removable without another adult being present so no back fastenings or zips to get out of it
  • shirred tends to suit me, but bust Always a problem
  • sensory issues with clothes, no frills, no frou frou, no off the shoulder.
  • nice breathable fabric, cool
  • I'm not adverse to patterns. Some flowers are nice, it very much depends
  • I'm the kind of person who favours comfort and would buy another in a different colour if I like it. I've just bought 3 identical bras in different colours
  • I can't emphasise this enough. I do not follow fashion, never have. I dress my style, alternative, individual, and favour charity shops so I can get unique items *will consider any price up to 150 if its amazing

I've enclosed 3 pictures of ones I like to give an idea of taste. They either have zips or are culotte style.

Would love some ideas if anyone felt the need

I love links and pics, thank you @Myshitisreal !

BakeOffRewatch · 06/06/2021 19:54

Sorry to read you’re having a tough time. It’s not right that that GP just pulled the “lose weight “ card, actual useful are pathways can be ignored when they’re so simplistic. I hope you feel better soon and are offered the care, in a medical and emotional sense, you need.

You have FANTASTIC fashion taste! Please tell us of their comfort factor on arrival, I want to copy.

@bakeoffrewatch thank you, I don't think anyone's ever said that about my dress style! I've only really discovered my true style these past ten years or so. I've amassed a small collection of dm boots over lockdown 🤭 I l love skulls, horror, and clearly a good pattern.

My parcel is arriving today, despite saying it would be Wednesday. That's a bit confusing but I'm waiting as we speak. It's very strange feeling, I've bought from charity shops for so long but theyre very busy at the minute so I'm in no rush to go near them.

The very lovely @zgaze posted me a stunning black culotte style jumpsuit so I'm trying that on later today.

Myshitisreal · 07/06/2021 13:53

Ah crap they're posting it in at least 5 different parcels (despite me ticking the box to send all in one go)

I live the ones you’ve ordered! I’ve just ordered this one:

I love that one. I have it in Navy and have been coveting in that pattern.

BusterGonad · 08/06/2021 09:59

I hope they are look fantastic on you op and that you feel a million dollars in them.

Rina66 · 08/06/2021 14:31

I've posted this a few times as an alternative to maxi dresses. Its such good value at £22 - I think it would fit an 18, I'm a 14 and it's got lots of room to grow. No fastenings, wide leg, pockets and v neck, wide enough straps to hide bra straps, comes in a variety of colours in cotton jersey,

That’s interesting @Rina66Rinn I have tended to avoid ‘one size fits all’ stuff, but with your personal recommendation, I’ll consider it. I am between 16 & 18. Do you wear it with a belt?
Rina66 · 08/06/2021 18:19

I don't because I don't wear with a belt as I don't have a trim enough waist, I'm a little bit rounder! But as the fabric drapes so well, it's really flattering without, I always get asked where it's from by somebody when I wear it. I actually even wear my black one when I fake tan as it doesn't rub anywhere and I can still look semi decent whilst the tan develops.

AnnieSnap · 08/06/2021 19:48

Thanks for pointing me in the direction @Rina66 I have never come across that company before. Based on your review, I have ordered one in dark Grey 😀 I would have liked Navy, but it’s sold out. There was no description showing the fabric content which was a bit weird! I hope it’s not Polyester, but since you like it so much, I might be able to live with it if it is. Have you bought other stuff from there?

Rina66 · 08/06/2021 20:05

Oh God @AnnieSnap, no pressure then!

I've just got my navy one and photographed the label...see below, it's 95% viscose and 5% elastane. it's like that heavy bouncy jersey, not cheapy.

Yes I buy lots from them, they're local to me and buy really well, everything is a modern classic.

I'd love to know what you think, I do hope you love it. I've been raving on here about their cheesecloth shirts, shirt dresses, shorts, tops and dresses too, I think when something makes you feel good and people compliment you, you want to tell others.

AnnieSnap · 08/06/2021 20:14

@Rina66 Yes, this purchase is all down to you 😂🤣

That is a great fabric mix. Thanks for showing me. I’ll let you know.

Rina66 · 08/06/2021 20:16

😬

Myshitisreal · 10/06/2021 17:46

@anniesnap I'll need a full report from you on that jumpsuit. One size items fill me with fear. I've realised clothes in general do that.

All my stuff has now arrived. The first bag didn't go well.

Beautiful sparkly leopard chiffon shirt - beautiful item, nice and longish. More navy than black in the darker parts. I do NOT suit balloon sleeves.

Black Jersey palazzo pants far too big and far too long even when turned up.

Khaki palazzo pants, quite liked them but the waist was tighter than I liked. I have real sensory issues especially with waistbands. I mean I guess if my waist was Smaller they would fit as I like (a bit baggy)

Black gypsy style dress. Beautiful dress, Light, flowy, pockets. But almost maybe too big around the shoulders. The skirt seems to flare out and I don't need extra size where it doesn't exist. I'll see what my husband says about this one. It's very comfortable. A belt empire line might fix it, but I hate belts.

So the rest is all sat on my living room table unopened. I'm trying to build myself up to it.opened the first parcel on Monday, everything came yesterday.

Clothes are so confusing. I have hellbunny dresses in size 18 and they're big especially round the shoulders, the waists have ties so I can pull The dress in, but it's back zipped and I can get it on over my head. Sizes are confusing from one company to the next. Haha, next. Geddit?

Also very thankful for the kind words and wishes. I've started an exercise regime and am eating 16/8 so am trying to make permanent sustainable changes 🤞.

I've to get my thyroid stuff checked to see if it's fixed. I hoped the tablets would make me lose weight but they haven't

Scattyhattie · 10/06/2021 18:16

Bravissimo are great for the busty so maybe worth a look.
www.bravissimo.com/collections/jumpsuits-and-playsuits/ there's a few more in sale section.

AnnieSnap · 10/06/2021 18:26

@Myshitisreal Sadly, I don’t think the tablets for hypothyroidism ever make us lose weight 🙄

Have you tried Boden? I find fit and style better if I pay a bit more (buy less stuff, but enjoy wearing it to death). Never pay full price though. Regularly, there is at least 20% off!

Myshitisreal · 10/06/2021 19:24

Oooo you know I didn't think of pepperberry, I'll have a look thank you. I was looking at their stuff on ebay yesterday but the actual website didn't occur to me embarrassingly enough

@anniesnap do you suffer the same plight? I have thyroid antibodies as well. I've found it very difficult to get good help from the doctor. It's complicated. My test is booked in a few weeks time. I keep speaking to different doctors, and due to the number of issues, not Everything is dealt with as it should be.

I don't know that I'm Bodens target market. My last few purchases were hellbunny dresses - one with coffins and roses, one with barbed wire and one with multi coloured unicorns. But I wouldn't rule it out of course. I had never heard of Boden until mumsnet. I'd be much more likely to be poking round a second hand shop, or going to a grungy hippy shop 😬 you can go wrong with plain black though 😂

@Myshitisreal, yes, I have hypothyroidism. It was diagnosed years ago now.
