Best cheap shampoo?

Have just used the garnier banana shampoo for the second time and it has left my hair horribly sticky but also frizzy 😭

I used to use a pink bottle L’Oréal which I liked but they’ve stopped doing it

By cheap I mean £5 or less, because I live in a hard water are anyway and am sick of using a shampoo once and realising it’s crap so lithe to spend more

I think the Aussie in ones are good

thenightsky · 02/06/2021 22:12

Aussie shine shampoo with Aussie Beat the Frizz conditioner.

Noooooogsh · 02/06/2021 22:15

Ahhh that’s jogged a memory I did used to use Aussie! Not sure why I stopped 🤔

Thanks both will give it a try again!

I’ve been using the Hask argan shampoo and conditioner. It’s usually £7 but often on offer for about £4.50. Cruelty free and makes my hair look decent. I used to use Aussie until I found out it’s tested on animals so I stopped.

DareIask · 02/06/2021 22:23

I bought the banana shampoo and conditioner today 😳

MoreHairyThanScary · 02/06/2021 22:31

Aussie changed recipe and are now rubbish for my hair. I have some huge 1L pump action things by Giovanni ? I get from txmaxx ( £10) but equivalent due to the volume) they are amazing!!!

LongIslandIcedT · 02/06/2021 22:32

I was really looking forward to the Garnier banana shampoo but my hair hates it.

My fav at the moment is the loreal dream lengths, frizz free.

GuyFawkesDay · 02/06/2021 22:34

Aveeno. Get it in boots. Gorgeous!

NannyAndJohn · 02/06/2021 22:34

You can get Herbal Essences 3 for £10 on Ocado.

ChubbyLittleManInACampervan · 02/06/2021 22:36

Tresemme deal cleaning shampoo I have relied on it for years!

Lexilooo · 02/06/2021 23:03

XHC from B&M just £1 a bottle, free from SLS, and parabens also vegan.

flashbac · 02/06/2021 23:09

Vosene

Gembie · 02/06/2021 23:14

I buy the big bottles of Tigi shampoo and conditioner from eBay - you can get both for about £13 and they’re huge so last ages. They smell amazing and are salon quality

Inaquandry19 · 02/06/2021 23:18

Alberto balsam shampoos and conditioners are pretty good and cheap as chips.

ThreeImaginaryBoys · 02/06/2021 23:28

Faith In Nature. Buy the big 5L bottles (Amazon subscribe and save) and decant. Really nice shampoo and free from all the crap.
(And Sainsbury's Apple conditioner is 75p and fab.)

motogogo · 02/06/2021 23:29

Aldi do a good range, very cheap (£5 is expensive to be honest)

bravotango · 02/06/2021 23:30

Fake Aussie from Aldi is great

needabreak5 · 02/06/2021 23:31

Slightly off topic but have you looked into getting a water softener installed? Game changer for my hair and skin - it was the water that's the problem and no shampoo could fix that!

KirstenBlest · 02/06/2021 23:33

herbal essence in the lime green bottle from pound shop. lidl shampoo is good.

RoseMartha · 02/06/2021 23:37

Simple is really nice
Xpel hair care argan oil shampoo

enjoyingscience · 02/06/2021 23:38

Home bargains always have the tigi bedhead ones - they are a bit more than £5, but three times the size of a normal bottle. They’re brilliant - no residue at all.

converseandjeans · 02/06/2021 23:45

Aussie range
Body shop

Cowbells · 02/06/2021 23:46

Head and Shoulders 2 in 1 apple shampoo. It's the only 2 in 1 that actually works. Shampoo then leave it on for a couple of minutes before rinsing. I live in a very hard water area but this shampoo makes my hair soft and shiny and it smells good too. About £5 a bottle and no need for conditioner.

1forAll74 · 03/06/2021 04:02

I always use Alberto balsam green apple shampoo,or their tea tree one,
95 pence.. I never use a conditioner at all.
