I have never purchased from jigsaw so don't know about sizing etc.
It's about the only summer dress I can tolerate this year, would you go for it?

Like it. Nice and summery! I'd probably wear it to a nice lunch.

lolliwillowes · 28/05/2021 23:25

thanks I just need something to cover summer - I sort of hate fashion but this was the only thing that didnt offend me :)

Well, the model / photo isn't showing it off well, but I think it is a nice enought dress.

Not £165 worth though. I mean - it's okay. Maybe wear to work or for a lunch but that's a lot of money for something that isn't a stunning outfit for a really special occasion.

I think it is a nice dress.

Stichintime · 28/05/2021 23:31

I don't think it's great for the price. Nice print but looks a bit sloppy.

DeborahAlisonphillipa · 28/05/2021 23:32

I wouldn't no. I don’t think it looks particularly nice (which is obviously subjective) or good value for money. It’s 100% viscose and the lining is 100% polyester so that would be put me off even a dress I really liked, especially if it was for wearing in hot weather.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 28/05/2021 23:33

I loved it until I saw the price Grin

Embracelife · 28/05/2021 23:38

There are loads similar in next m&s etc way cheaper

Cowbells · 28/05/2021 23:38

It's fine but there are lots of ditsy print dresses around for half the price. Like this Monsoon one.

goose1964 · 28/05/2021 23:44

Horrible colour but nice cut

lolliwillowes · 28/05/2021 23:45

well I am convinced, hate buying clothes, don't need much encouragement!

will look at m&s, but can't stand thin fabrics...

Honestly I like this! Colour and cut. OP just won best dressed at work last month, you should listen to me...Grin

Why is this the only dress you can cope with this summer? What would your ideal summer dress be like?

Luckyelephant1 · 29/05/2021 00:52

It's nice but I'm pretty sure I've seen very similar dresses in new look for about 25 quid (although the quality is shocking).

MrsMaizel · 29/05/2021 00:56

Crew clothing has a few like this 60 - 80 pound mark.

teezletangler · 29/05/2021 00:58

I think it's beautiful, but I really like Jigsaw. Yes it's very expensive, so I think it depends on how much wear you will get out of it. There are a lot of ditsy prints around and many of them much cheaper, but a dress that costs £25 usually looks like it costs £25.

HakunaYourTatas · 29/05/2021 01:00

I love it. I definitely don’t think the model is doing it justice though even though she is slim and lovely! Might be the shoes?

MustardRose · 29/05/2021 01:03

That's what I thought - the shoes give off a rather frumpy and plodding vibe, don't they?
ceeveebee · 29/05/2021 01:05

100% polyester lining would put me off completely

HakunaYourTatas · 29/05/2021 01:06

Plodding is absolutely the word!!

OldTinHat · 29/05/2021 01:07

I love that dress! The price not so much!

StarlightLady · 29/05/2021 06:24

Tastes are all different. I like the neck line and the length. For me the pattern is overly busy. But like others, l think it is over priced.

LadyWithLapdog · 29/05/2021 07:08

I like the sleeve length and the general cut. It’s a bit expensive, though.

Divebar2021 · 29/05/2021 07:15

I don’t think you should spend that money on a dress when you’re using words like “tolerate”. If you don’t like it better than dresses you already own then I would say it won’t get worn.( assuming you have other dresses already ). It’s not really about the cost but the cost per wear. I would want to love something if I was spending that amount on it.

Egghead68 · 29/05/2021 07:21

It’s OK but I just got a very similar one from Oliver Bonas sale for around £30.

SocksAndTheCity · 29/05/2021 07:23

If you don't like dresses, don't buy a dress - there are other things you can wear to 'cover summer' and you can probably get at least a couple of (cotton) options for £165!

I don't like the dress personally, but then even thinking about a polyester lined dress in summer is making me sweat like pork in plastic regardless of the colour/cut.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 29/05/2021 07:24

I'm not keen, I don't like the fussy sleeves and the fitted bust looks too small on the model so there would no chance on me. I think its overpriced and a bit frumpy. It doesn't sound like you love it to be honest
