I know it's subjective but what do you think of this dress?
I'm revamping my wardrobe, I have way too many clothes but a lot became a little big after my son. Also, I've gone off a lot of the prints I havintend to wear a lot of girly and floral prints but am looking for something different. I'm also looking to but more expensive pieces that will last. However, I just don't know where to shop anymore. This dress is m&s but at 33 I sometimes feel too young to shop there?
Where do people my age shop? I love Sezane but it's pricey, I find places like Zara and Topshop have a lot of cropped items that I won't wear!

Argh 2nd picture was supposed to be deleted as I cropped it

Yes, I do like it. I would wear that with my chunky black DM sandals and a denim jacket. Looks nice on you.

EllaPaella · 27/05/2021 11:06

Not so keen on the frilly collar but it's otherwise very nice.

Sisisimone · 27/05/2021 11:07

I was going to say no from the pic of the model as its not really my taste but it really suits your shape- you look better in it than the model!
Re shops, I'm a bit older than you but I've bought this season from Hush, French Connection, Sezanne, Jigsaw, Urban Outfitters and ASOS

HeyDemonsItsYaGirl · 27/05/2021 11:13

I don't like the combination of high neck and ankle length, but the drape and waist looks great on you.

likeasongbird · 27/05/2021 11:16

I think it looks fabulous on you!

SaintVal · 27/05/2021 11:23

Looks amazing and you have a fab figure! I'd undo a few of the bottom buttons to show a little leg and add a denim or leather jacket.

CafeMochaVodkaValiumLate · 27/05/2021 11:25

It looks so much better on you than the model! I'm 31 and must say I love M&S, you have to sift but some of the dresses are lovely.

Herja · 27/05/2021 11:27

I prefer it on you to the model.

I would want to break up the print a bit. Either a jacket (leather or denim, I'd choose denim) or even just a slim belt. Definitely open some buttons too.

Laufeythejust · 27/05/2021 11:28

I do and I don’t normally like this length of dress. I think it needs something to break it up a bit though like a belt.

CoffeeCakey · 27/05/2021 12:29

Yes as long as you can't see your knickers through it

theweebabydonkey · 27/05/2021 12:42

Yes looks great. I'd echo PPs and undo a couple (a lot) of buttons at the bottom to show off your legs. You look fab in it

MrsBerthaRochester · 27/05/2021 14:51

Love it! Would look frumpy on me due to boobs but it looks great on you.

Orangesandlemons82 · 27/05/2021 14:53

You look better than the m+s model!! It really suits you.

theworldsbiggestcrocodile · 27/05/2021 14:54

I really like it. Check a nice pair of bright air Max on with it and it will look bang on.
You look great in it

Mimsytove · 27/05/2021 14:56

Thin leather black belt would set it off

Lovingspring · 27/05/2021 14:59

I like it OP, but I wouldn't wear it as it doesn't suit my body shape (inverted triangle-big shoulders). It really depends what it looks like on you.

Lovingspring · 27/05/2021 15:00

Sorry OP just realized the small photo was of you. Yes it does suit you!

bunburyscucumbersandwich · 27/05/2021 15:00

When I saw the model wearing it I thought yuck. But actually it looks better on you! I'd probably get it taken up a bit though as it's too long.

ArabeI · 27/05/2021 15:04

It looks like nightwear, from a distance, on the model. Agree it looks better on your photo.

whatswithtodaytoday · 27/05/2021 15:05

I like it on you, though it's not the kind of thing I would wear - too much white. I'd undo a few buttons top and bottom (hate the very modest necklines at the moment).

DreadingItBadly · 27/05/2021 15:07

Reminds me of last summer's "iconic" Zara spotty dress

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 27/05/2021 15:12

I like it! I’m 30’s and occasionally shop in M&S too. I like their jeggings (I find regular jeans uncomfortable since an injury) and simple jumpers. I also like boden for jersey dresses, and I quite like the current stuff in river island (having not shopped there in ages).

sqirrelfriends · 27/05/2021 15:13

You look good in it but could look better in a nicer dress IYKWIM.

Lan2020 · 27/05/2021 17:35

Thank you all for your lovely comments. My photo looked a bit rubbish as I don't do selfies/mirror photos.
I worry about looking swamped as the fashion is midi skirts/dresses than can drown my petite frame.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I think I like the idea of breaking up the print with a belt (I don't actually own one). Also, a cardi in the colder weather will give more colour.
