Do you find high waisted jeans comfortable?

This last year there’s been a lot of people saying they haven’t been wearing jeans in lockdown as they are ‘so uncomfortable’. Since high waisted styles are pretty much all prevalent these days I assume such people are wearing high waisted jeans. I personally have never been able to wear high waisted jeans, they constrict my stomach and induce painful trapped wind (sorry, tmi). I can only wear low rise (at least two inches below my belly button) but then I find them comfortable to wear all day, including as casual wear at home.

I know high waisted jeans are very popular but am interested in whether that’s because that is what is available and fashionable, or whether people are in fact secretly cursing them?

Height makes such a difference doesn't it. I am 5'7" and "high rise" jeans come up to my navel, and nowhere near my bust. No, it's shape. I'm 5'9" but have long legs and a short body.

I think I must be long waisted as well, and have a small waist relative to my hips.

I can't get on with them at all unless it's on a day I will be out and about and standing lots. Like the OP I find them really belly-constricting and uncomfortable to the point of trapped wind/nausea.

I am living in my Gap low rise jeans from several years back and don't know what I'll do when they wear out! Has anyone had any success finding low rise jeans still on sale??

Unfortunately not. River Island have some that they call low rise but are definitely mid-rise on me.

I'm only 5'3", but I'm mostly short because of my short legs, I have quite a long torso. And I'm naturally hourglass/pear shaped. I do fit high waisted jeans much better than low rise.

People who opt for very high rise should pay more. Low and medium rise wearers are subsidising their extra and unnecessary fabric.
