Wedding guest outfit- too formal now?

My cousin was due to get married last June. Grand country house job probably with ice sculptures

The wedding will now take place next June in a very nice country pub with marquee. Hurray!

The outfit I bought for the original wedding now feels like it would be out of place. I'm unlikely to go to another wedding any time soon. I love the outfit (it's my colour and very flattering), but I just need to bite the bullet and flog it, don't I?

TLDR: is this too formal for a country pub wedding?

It's gorgeous. I'd still wear it. Hair up and no hat.

Just because venue has changed to a marquee, I wouldn't suddenly change to jeans or a casual summer dress! What else would you wear?

Its lovely, but as others have said, if you have a fascinator then keep it simple. My worry would be whether it would still fit next year!

Just to add to the many people saying wear it, sans headgear. It's gorgeous and fine or any sort of wedding really.

Yeah, it might be a bit more formal than you would have chosen if the country pub had been the plan all along, but you can't possibly sell it or give up the chance to wear it just because plans have now changed.

That really is gorgeous! Not often that an outfit gets such unanimous approval! So elegant, and a beautiful colour. Agree, no hat, simple accessories....you will look stunning.

Can you imagine having to postpone your wedding because of a pandemic and change your venue, plans, etc, etc and then all your guests feel as though they should then tone it down a bit with their outfits? I'm sure the happy couple will just be glad they finally got to tie the knot, blah, blah... but I'm also sure they'll be so thrilled if their guests go all fancy! It's a long-awaited celebration and it deserves the kind of lovely outfit you've been looking forward to wearing all this time. Go for it!

Dress up! I've taken to wearing heels to the supermarket in defiance I had nowhere else to wear them
