Thoughts on these sandals please

I love the look of these sandals but would really appreciate honest opinions on them. I want to wear them with the dress in the photo to a garden party I have lined up at the end of the month.
Will they go with the dress? I don't wear dresses very often so would also need to be able to wear them with other outfits, what would you wear them with other than dresses/skirts?
Please also feel free to tell me honestly if you think they are awful - I haven't had a block heel in years (probably since being a teenager in the 90's!)

They'll look great

But you're already wearing lovely tan sandals with them ? Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/05/2021 19:57

I like the shape, but not the suede. Would be much nicer in leather imo.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/05/2021 19:58

Forgot to say - the dress looks lovely!

Tehmina23 · 17/05/2021 20:09

If I'm honest the dress & jacket look great, but I'm just not too keen on the sandals.

EllaPaella · 17/05/2021 20:23

Thanks @LaurieFairyCake - I feel a need for a bit of a heel as it feels very casual with my flat sandals. I wasn't sure about the suede either, think I need to see them in the flesh so to speak. Might have to look for similar in leather.

Thanks for the dress appreciation- I got it at the end of last summer and not had much occasion to wear it.

The dress is lovely! I actually think it looks better on you than on the model.

I'm not 100% convinced by the sandals tbh, although they are far from bad.

I think maybe sliders or mules might look nice with that dress and jacket, if you want a heel.

ParisEncore · 17/05/2021 20:54

Maybe something like these?

Love the dress - not keen on the suede or the combination of thin straps with blocky heel .... would green leather sandals look better with the coral dress? Or neutral wedge espadrille?

SwimmingOnEggshells · 17/05/2021 21:00

Perfect choice. They'll go really well. Just make sure the length of your dress is ok with them. It's hard to tell what height heel you have on in the pic, but whatever height they are the dress is neither too long nor too short.

DenisetheMenace · 17/05/2021 21:01

My thoughts: wish I could walk in those. Especially on a beach . Think Mrs. Overall.

Were I younger with lovely feet. they are very pretty.

Bluntness100 · 17/05/2021 21:01

I like the suede and the shape I think they will go very well.

EllaPaella · 17/05/2021 21:50

Thanks everyone- I have neutral wedges so that's an option. I agree about the length of the dress, will have to see how it looks when I try them on. I have ordered them to see but very open to more suggestions. There is a gorgeous pair of clogs from Sezane that I have my eye on but not sure how they would work with this dress

A wedge heel espadrille would be lovely! I don't hate the sandals though

ParisEncore · 17/05/2021 22:03

I love the Sezane clogs! Have you tried them with the dress?

Squiz81 · 17/05/2021 22:08

I think the clogs would go better...a word of warning though, I have some Hasbeens clogs and they aren’t particularly comfy to walk round in, might be a consideration if you’re at a garden party

Wallabyone · 17/05/2021 22:11

Those clogs are fab!

littlebite · 17/05/2021 22:17

I just don't get how clogs can ever work as footwear - they don't bend with your stride - so you just end up clomping around?

Yorkshirepuddingforever · 17/05/2021 22:28

I love the dress and was going to suggest clogs Grin. The Sezane clogs are gorgeous. I have a similar pair and they are fine to walk in for an event. I wouldn't wear them anywhere I had to walk very far though.

KateMidd · 17/05/2021 22:28

The clogs are sooo cool! I thing they'll look nice with the dress.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 17/05/2021 22:28

Yes beautiful clogs but I've gotten the worst blisters from wooden sole shoes. I think it's because they're so heavy.

EllaPaella · 17/05/2021 22:34

@ParisEncore no not ordered them yet.. They are V pricey but delectable! I have wide feet and the models feet look quite slim and narrow. Unfortunately there were problems for Sezane shipping to UK post Brexit, anyone ordered from them lately? Wondering if that's all been resolved.

Sssloou · 17/05/2021 22:36

Ohh love those clogs - would make the outfit bit more edgy than wedges

AfterSchoolWorry · 17/05/2021 22:41

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie

I like the shape, but not the suede. Would be much nicer in leather imo.
Same. Suede makes them frumpy.
WouldBeGood · 17/05/2021 22:44

I like the sandals but the dress looks big on you?
