I love the look of these sandals but would really appreciate honest opinions on them. I want to wear them with the dress in the photo to a garden party I have lined up at the end of the month.
Will they go with the dress? I don't wear dresses very often so would also need to be able to wear them with other outfits, what would you wear them with other than dresses/skirts?
Please also feel free to tell me honestly if you think they are awful - I haven't had a block heel in years (probably since being a teenager in the 90's!)

Lovely dress! I was going also going to suggest clogs - I have some from Lotta from Stockholm and find them really comfortable, also have wider feet. Have a great time!

Divebar2021 · 17/05/2021 23:43

I’ve had clogs from Lotta and they worked with my wider feet.... Hasbeens were too narrow for me ( Lotta are cheaper than the pair you posted I think)! I quite like the suede shoes but find suede looks shit after a short while... leather is much more durable. I also noticed the heel was suede covered... I had some expensive boots with leather covered heels... I slipped down a grate and gouged the leather revealing white underneath. I was so pissed off. I prefer a solid heel now. You might be more careful than me though. Other than the dresses I would wear that heel with a 7/8th trouser or a long, wide leg trousers ( depending on the toe shape)

@ellapaella I've order from.Sexane a few times recently with no issues at (had a parcel atrive today).
I love Sezane! Just a bit pricey, so I'm debating whether or not to keep my items.
I like the shoes you posted and am looking for similar. Tan is so versatile.

Lan2020 · 18/05/2021 00:21

I wish you could edit posts!

Fabulous platform trainers not an option? They would look so good with that dress and jacket combo. A friend had some amazing laceless ones from Russell & Bromley the other day at a smart casual event

Juancornetto · 18/05/2021 06:59

I find that shoes where the heel is covered in suede or leather look scruffy very quickly. I've got some Lotta clogs in my shopping bag ATM Smile have wanted some for years and really need to pull the trigger!

Oly4 · 18/05/2021 07:02

Clogs are so Uncomfy! I’d wear the wedges you already have
Lovely dresss

Frazzledd · 18/05/2021 07:14

Really want that dress! I have similar but in a grey/black, the red is lovely!

I'd always go with flats with a dress that length my heels always get caught, also second the wedged trainer option (pure white would be nice) if your teaming with the denim for a garden party?

Wedges could work - depends on what the style is.

The clogs are fabulous but they don't look at all comfortable.

Bbub · 18/05/2021 21:15

I think the sandals will make the outfit look frumpy. In your mirror selfie you look relaxed and really stylish but to me the sandals seem mumsy

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/05/2021 21:48

That is total bollocks. The sandals aren't great but to say they will make an entire outfit 'frumpy' and 'mumsy' is, frankly, ridiculous and largely meaningless.

Divebar2021 · 19/05/2021 07:44

I find clogs really comfortable... you just have to watch them in the rain as they can be slippery.... I’m not sure a wedge is going to work if you’re looking for a modern look

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 19/05/2021 07:55

I love the Sezane clogs! And I think they'd suit the dress very well. You look fabulous!

EllaPaella · 24/05/2021 13:34

Update on sandals 👡
They have arrived and actually I love them. Definitely keepers. I have yet to try with the dress but to be honest I would keep them anyway.

@WouldBeGood

I like the sandals but the dress looks big on you?
Looks a perfect fit to me.

I prefer wedges to block heels so my preference would be for those.

Pivotthesofa · 24/05/2021 13:45

OP You have a fabulous figure I’m very jealous and can pull off the suede sandals. I love the clogs too.

Those of you who say the clogs from Lotta worked for wide feet, what style did you find worked for you? I’ve long lusted after them but thought they would be too narrow for me. Sorry to hijack OP!

SwimmingOnEggshells · 24/05/2021 13:47

They look great on you. You'll get loads of wear out of them, tan goes with everything.

And btw I don't think suede is frumpy at all!

Boood · 24/05/2021 13:48

You’ve already bought them so doesn’t matter now, but imo you can’t go wrong with flat tan leather sandals in summer. Great with any length dress, jeans or shorts, work with almost all colours including black- it’s hard to go wrong with them until you need to be quite formal.

EllaPaella · 24/05/2021 14:32

@Pivotthesofa no worries, I was seriously tempted by clogs but put off a bit by people saying they weren't that comfy, if you decide to order them come back and let us know how you get on!
I already have flat tan sandals and wedge espadrilles but fancied something a bit different. Some may find block heels frumpy I guess and a few years ago maybe they were quite dated but not anymore, block heels have been back in the shops for the last couple of years.
I love them and don't mind the suede at all, thank you to you all for your thoughts and feedback tho - I really wasn't sure but now I've seen them in the flesh I am definitely keeping.

Ooh just seen this @EllaPaella
They look fantastic and I reckon they'll be perfect with the sézane dress Smile (and lots of other things too) just need the weather to pick up!
🤞

Juancornetto · 24/05/2021 15:42

I ordered the low wood closed toe clogs from Lotta but returned them because they were tight and I didn't think they'd stretch enough
HumourReplacementTherapy · 24/05/2021 15:43

@Pivotthesofa I've tried some clogs from lotta (via toast) recently and they came up small on me, my toe was right at the end so I sent them back. They were the kitty ones.

https://www.toa.st/products/kitty-clogs-aaliyah-heeled-clogs-cumin?gclid=Cj0KCQjwna2FBhDPARIsACAEcUcLZduumSfo7rmaeYA0pm1P4a1zy5uIpQHmSR2QnkffXdNh2BVmHoaAu2IEALww_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

So I ordered the sézane ones (they're open toe) and I found them comfier.

If kitty did half sizes I'd have tried a 5.5 but I reckon the 6 would be too big.

HumourReplacementTherapy · 24/05/2021 15:44

Ahh crossed post with @Juancornetto who seems to have had similar prob. Smile

Pivotthesofa · 24/05/2021 16:30

@EllaPaella you don’t look frumpy in them at all. I think you really pull them off. Love to jeans as well

Thanks for the info re the clogs
