Which dress, or both?

I have brought both of these, I am 5ft 2 and the Whistles is a better length. The Somerset is slightly too long so I will need to shorten it which I can do.
Shall I keep both? I don’t go out a lot so would get worn mostly on a dress down Friday at work.

Just seen the pictures and actually the second one absolutely looks miles better on you.

WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld · 20/05/2021 22:08

The second dress looks lovely on you

CatsPyjama · 20/05/2021 22:27

I love the jumpsuit version of the Temperley dress! Can’t justify the price.

CatsPyjama · 20/05/2021 22:27

Sorry meant to say, it looks great OP!

Greenshed · 20/05/2021 22:32

That's lovely @elsabet. I hope you enjoy wearing it Smile

Right decision. The Temperley looks good. Though I have to say, I'm liking the late H&M suggestion because of its long sleeves. I think the long sleeves look so much better- short sleeve shirt dresses can look a bit 'man's short sleeved shirt' or even a bit 'shirtwaister' to me.

Similar, nIcer and cheaper ones in M&S collaboration with Ghost (M&S/GHOST)
They also now sell other name brands.

NeverRTFT · 21/05/2021 18:04

Love both! Whistle one isn't boring as some pp said. It's definitely a bit more tame than the temperley but it's gorgeous cut and really lovely

NeverRTFT · 21/05/2021 18:06

Sorry have now rtft and seen the pics. Good choice op. Temperley definitely the winner. Looks fantastic on you

Dontwanttolivewithmylover · 21/05/2021 18:09

Nether are a good look and not with those sleeves. Sorry, but my honest opinion. Too mumsy. I'm sure something else will give you a less 'tied in the middle' look. They certainly don't flatter you and a dress that skims your figure but does have a fluid shape would be lovely.
If one tends to be a mature curvy person then material belts are not a good idea.
Sorry, but in my view not worth the money.

Dontwanttolivewithmylover · 21/05/2021 18:10
  • Correction. Neither.
Dontwanttolivewithmylover · 21/05/2021 18:19

Wearing a CARDIGAN over it? Madness...sheer madness. That's definitely out and I'm 76. Even I wouldn't wear those dresses and deff no cardigan.

Elsabet · 21/05/2021 19:05

@Dontwanttolivewithmylover the cardigan was a joke as it’s always cold in our office!
I decided to go for the Temperley and have shortened in so too late to send it back. I like it and am happy with my tied in the middle look mature look :)
