August bank hol wedding. Posh place with new man Grin I'm aiming for girly rather than sexy as is his family wedding.

I'm size 4/6, petite, 5'2. Blonde, green eyes. I'm really slight, so can carry a small pattern, but nothing to frilly/puffed etc.

No idea where to start looking. Can you please help me. Everything looks either too bridesmaid, is too long for my height, or a bit over the top.

Thanks x

This would push you out of your comfort zone but still beautiful and would look stunning on your slight figure

Oooh Reiss have some beautiful dresses. But I find sometimes even though their sizes are small they're not petite and would still need to be altered on the hem or shoulders. You'd really need to try on. this one is gorgeous but you couldn't take it up if it's too long.

Have you had a look at Phase Eight? Some lovely dresses on sale at the moment. What do you think of these?

Reiss fits in a size 4 but only if it's a body con fit. Happy to get things fitted though. I'll have a look.

If I did ^ I'd style with nude patent heels and clutch and a nude wrap if it was cool. It's NOT allowed to rain!

Have a look at hope and ivy, their dresses are beautiful.

mnahmnah · 07/05/2021 20:45

Ooh, glad you’re ordering that one! I think it’s perfect

atomicnotsoblonde · 07/05/2021 21:53

Thank you! I'm really not sure about the black/nude one I tried on.

The suggestion was ace. Will be back as chance of fitting my weird body is slim to none! 🙈

You look lovely in the black/nude dress, but I agree I’m not sure it’s right for an august wedding

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 07/05/2021 22:40

That pink Ted Baker dress is gorgeous - but you said no frills! I think you definitely have the figure to carry off a few frills/ruffles etc!

The black & nude dress is lovely but not for a summer wedding.

atomicnotsoblonde · 07/05/2021 22:49

Yeah I agree the black one isn't right! Do have concerns about frills, but I like the pink.

Very open to more ideas!!

FloconDeNeige · 07/05/2021 22:52

The black one is not really wedding attire, I agree. The pink TB is gorgeous and will likely look lovely!

atomicnotsoblonde · 07/05/2021 22:53

I need a bit of a shove to try stuff and far too often just play it safe. I've got to get out of my comfort zone and try different things. I'm really self conscious and find getting just dressed a really stressful experience. Let alone an event where there are so many variables to consider.

It's been so helpful getting new ideas, I really appreciate it. You're all lovely x

I wouldn’t say they are frills, more structures folds Grin nice detail without being ‘flouncy’

atomicnotsoblonde · 07/05/2021 22:56

I like this from boohoo... but has anyone seen anything similar anywhere other than boohoo?! Happy to spend up to £250.

You're right it's not flouncy and that's what I like x
