Help!!! Hair disaster!!!!

Hello
I've just had by hair done by a mobile hairdresser for the first. I normally have half head subtle highlights and then top up with a t- section. It's come out streaky blond and I'm panicking!! I'm quite a quiet person and there's no mistaking the change in my hair now and I really can't face all the comments I'll get in work tomorrow. Can anyone recommend a semi-permanent hair dye I can get to tone it down a bit? To be fair on the hairdresser, I think she was shocked at how well it took to my hair and did her best to try and take the edge off it but I think it was too late by that point. I'm not cross with her about it- just want it to be more subtle ☹️

Can I see a pic of it down? Scraped back does look streaky but would need to see it down to see?

Here's a pic of it down x

I have very sinister looking eyes on that second picture!!!

Do you have a ' normal' picture of it? ie face on or side on, looking at the camera (face blurred if you want) and with it parted how you would normally wear it? Pulled back like that is difficult to tell.

dementedpixie · 05/05/2021 18:30

Style your hair how you would wear it and take a normal picture. You can always scrub out your face

BeaLola · 05/05/2021 18:33

Hard to know how really different it looks as no idea how it usually looks
I would just go with it - if anyone says anything I would just sag something on the lines of - it's been so long since I had my hair done I just thought I'd go for it

Stichintime · 05/05/2021 18:34

It looks ok. You may just need to get used to it.

wingsnthat · 05/05/2021 18:36

Tbh I don’t see the issue. It just looks like highlights, not bad highlights

ooherrmissus14 · 05/05/2021 18:37

The top one is how I normally wear it but I'll take with with my full face.
You should all be honoured.... I've just learned how to cover up my face in pictures in order to post these 😂

Looks fine to me, the brightness will dull down after a few washes, it's always brightest when it's first done

Cuntryhouse · 05/05/2021 18:39

Yes, will need to see a pic of your hair styled. You could always just say that you fancied a change. Don't go in saying it looks bad, as that gives others permission to criticise you.

BillieSpain · 05/05/2021 18:40

I think it looks fine! Nice colour

I think you might be right. I'm not very adventurous with my hair so maybe it will just take me time to get used to it....

I like it! Just say you wanted to try something different. If anyone comments just say thank you.

SpringtimeSummertime · 05/05/2021 18:41

The actual colour of the highlights is fine, the blonde is quite nice. The problem is the application. The hairdresser has made no attempt to blend/fade them into your darker roots. You either go right up to the scalp or fade them in.
Crap highlights but ok colour.

BillieSpain · 05/05/2021 18:44

I find they 'sort themselves out' after a day or two.

Once you've washed your hair and given it a few days it'll look fab. You're just not used to it.

Letsgetreadytocrumble · 05/05/2021 18:44

I agree that the colour looks really good but the blending isn't great, they just kind of stop, and not evenly either. However, generally I think it's looks pretty nice!

I think that's what it is- they just feel very separate from the rest of my hair. It seems much more obvious in real life than it does on the pictures ☹️

So just to get your opinions- should I not put a semi-permanent colour on it?

OP posts:
Frazzled2207 · 05/05/2021 18:54

Agree with @SpringtimeSummertime
Don’t look well done at the roots. The colour is fine but I’d not be happy on that basis.

Raera · 05/05/2021 18:55

No, leave it, I really like your hair. Look forward to the compliments!

BillieSpain · 05/05/2021 19:11

NO! Leave it!

Cocolapew · 05/05/2021 19:13

Don't colour it! It looks fine.

Blueskytoday06 · 05/05/2021 19:15

I like it Smile

Mellonsprite · 05/05/2021 19:17

Don’t colour it, but can you get her back to take them upto your scalp or blend them better? They’re not even either.
