Please help - swimming cozzie nightmare!

Hello! Went back to the pool this week and my swimming my costume is obscene
I’ve put on weight in lockdown and must be a size 22 at least.... my last one was not supportive enough so I wear a crop top underneath but it has a skirt which I love as covers a little - I think it was from Sainsbury’s but they aren’t designed for a big bust

I’m desperately trying to find something to protect my modesty (bust) im a 38jj so obviously it can’t be a halter neck.

Id just like to swim in piece and unfortunately can’t find any Victorian style swim suits to cover the whole of me

Has anyone seen any/got any suggestions?
Preferably not a £70 bravissimo one - still find them a bit obscene and am on a budget.

I've got a speedo boy leg. I like more coverage. I'm a size 8 but hairy!

I buy a tankini top and then get some men's swim shorts from primark for £4. They come in every colour so I have some turquoise with a black and turquoise halter neck tankini top from Yours clothing and a pair of pink shorts with a plain black vest style top from landsend.

I like the coverage over stomach and top of my thighs from the shorts and the support from the tankini top, plus I'm long of body so always find a one piece comes up too short so either my boobs hang out of the legs cut too high.

Also a Speedo boy leg wearer! I'm a 12 with 30HH bust and the cozzie I've got has enough elastic to hold everything in, plus it doesn't get up your arse because it's little shorts instead of brief-style.

@bobbinthreadbare excellent. I am still baffled and bemused that women swim in such skimpy swimsuits ... it's one thing on holiday, but another when in the local pool with the kids. I just can't take that amount of grooming to go swimming. I must be a weirdo as no one else at my pool wears a boy leg. I also like a swim hat (not cos I'm a fast swimmer) but I like to protect my hair from the chlorine. No one else does so I look like a serious swimmmer!!

Going to look into the swim short/boy leg - I often find with the bust that it pulls the body up so they would be great.

It’s such a shame it’s such a faff as I adore swimming and think I’d be much better with the right kit!

Currently I’m still thrilled every time I go as I had my eyes lasered a while back and being able to see under the water is genuinely thrilling

I have a £39.50 one from bravissimo. No skirt though. All shapes and sizes at the pool, I'm a 16 and mid range size distribution wise, plenty of women size 20+

Swim leggings and a rash vest might give you more confidence though, if you prefer more coverage

I wear a slazenger (sp?) costume from Sports Direct which cost me about £11. It's not boy leg (but they do do a boy leg version) but it is cut such that I don't need to do any grooming in order to be able to wear it (which is my minimum requirement for a swim suit). It's also much easier to swim in than my nice m and s ones which are flattering and though I don't fall out they are pretty risqué in terms of cleavage whereas the sports ones aren't.

I've taken to wearing a matching rash vest over my swimming costume.

Actually, I hesitate to suggest them because I am a goth, but Boden have swim shorts and rash vests which look quite good quality. They are short shorts but for me it's the no grooming thing that persuades...

I'd go for Bravissimo, sometimes you can get them on sale. With your bust size you will be much better supported by a proper underwired suit and you will feel much more confident. If your boobs are lifted, it will make your torso look longer and slimmer. Or like someone else mentioned try a tankini top - £44 from Bravissimo and then buy a cheapish pair of swimshorts - Decathlon/Amazon, though Lands End do some with different leg lengths and they do swim skirts. There is a train of thought that says the more fabric you wear, the bigger you look, so it can be counter productive wearing skirts/shorts as they just draw attention to your size. Though I know from my own experience, I feel happier more covered up.

There’s a few swim dresses and separates on Tu at Sainsbury’s right now. A couple of different styles and all up to a 26. They’re usually pretty good quality too.

Try Brastop - they do bras, swimwear and gymwear for larger busts. They usually have a sale section.

I wear a rash vest at the pool for extra coverage. Swimsuit with shorts from Amazon. Neither cost more than 20 quid. Both in black. I would say I couldn’t wear a rash vest without some kind of support underneath swimsuit/ bikini top.

Lands End do a wide range of swimwear in a good range of sizes. Never but full price as they often have sales on.

Evans have some lovely swim dresses, also swim shorts/tankinis etc

BobbinThreadbare I am am almost the same size as you, which suit do you have ? I am tallish though so some suits are too short.
