Hello! Went back to the pool this week and my swimming my costume is obscene Blush
I’ve put on weight in lockdown and must be a size 22 at least.... my last one was not supportive enough so I wear a crop top underneath but it has a skirt which I love as covers a little - I think it was from Sainsbury’s but they aren’t designed for a big bust

I’m desperately trying to find something to protect my modesty (bust) im a 38jj so obviously it can’t be a halter neck.

Id just like to swim in piece and unfortunately can’t find any Victorian style swim suits to cover the whole of me Grin

Has anyone seen any/got any suggestions?
Preferably not a £70 bravissimo one - still find them a bit obscene and am on a budget.

Thanks!

Pour Moi is a swimwear and lingerie brand that does a lot of cup-size bikinis and swimsuits - I used to really rate them as they were very sturdy, support-wise, but didn't look it! I've also had some good supportive bikini tops from John Lewis.

I need a reasonable body length but if I buy by bra size, as I am a 28 or 30, these back sizes tend to be shorter in the body. I am five foot eight , 28HH or 30H bra.

Elomi makes a swim bikini tops that are basically amazing supportive bras. Now, I would never have the guts to sport a bikini, or well, I’ve got way too much gut to sport a bikini not to mention a nasty surgery scar. However, I figured out that an Elomi bikini top paired with a swimsuit can work really well. Some suits the bra is completely hidden. Lately I’ve been buying the print versions and having it show intentionally. I love having real support and a proper fit.

Have a Google of Modli. They do all sorts of combinations

BestestBrownies · 04/05/2021 18:04

Just came on to say Modli and the new short-sleeved zip-front rash vests and shorts at Boden. Have only been looking at these this morning.

I have several Slazenger boyshort costumes, but find they’re not especially long in the torso so might give a bit of cameltoe if you have a bigger bust.

@SirVixofVixHall I'm 5'7". I can't find a 'name' but it's a black boyleg Speedo Endurance+. Nice and plain and it is long enough.

SirVixofVixHall · 05/05/2021 00:06

Thank you Bobbin i will google.

Lands End by far the most supportive I've found and with the biggest style variations. I've got two costumes and bought in their sales - some good bargains at present on their site and excellent customer service www.landsend.co.uk/Women/Swimwear/ix-11307#scroll=306

SirVixofVixHall · 05/05/2021 15:47

I tried Landsend but they don’t do a big enough cup size for me.

Look at Panache swimsuits. Like Bravissimo they have the built in bra but don't show any cleavage so ideal for the local baths!

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 06/05/2021 18:04

Take a look at this site modli.co/gl/swimwear.html

I haven't bought from them yet so don't know if they're worth the ££ but there are lots of non-skimpy styles to choose from.

I tend to go for a tanking top now for my 30JJ’s from bravissimo ect. And then just buy cheap bottoms from
Anywhere

Asda is your friend here.

£19 a tankini top at brastop @pinkstinks. I searched by your size too so they’re definitely in stock and reduced! Grin

@BobbinThreadbare123

Actually, I hesitate to suggest them because I am a goth, but Boden have swim shorts and rash vests which look quite good quality. They are short shorts but for me it's the no grooming thing that persuades...
I bet ALL the SoM wear Boden boxers.

I mourn BHS for many things but their reasonably priced, well made and supportive swimming costumes the most.

pinkstinks · 06/05/2021 21:09

Oh wow you are all brilliant so many fab suggestions!

I’m back from the pool! I went with this one and I must say I’m impressed! Covered in all the right places and the straps are so gloriously wide! I always end up in agony with tiny straps embedded in my shoulders!
Thought it may be a tad short in the body initially but it’s fine now - I thought it was boy shorts underneath but it’s full brief. It was in a flash deal on Amazon so £21!

Def going to have a look on brastopvas well though thanks - really enjoying swimming so I think having a couple Of options will be perfect.
Now I’m Just hoping they open the pool up to it’s full Olympic length!!
