Sick of drawing in my eyebrows

Workyticket · 02/05/2021 20:33

I over plucked in my youth and am missing chunks of eyebrows - they're short by about 1cm both sides (the bits nearest my nose)

I try to draw them in but I'm not great at it. I've literally not plucked for about a year and there's nothing there bar a few stragglers pointing in different directions

I'm wary of tattooing - are there any other options?

I'm slowly but surely trying to aort out my non pampering self. Ive NEVER had anything done to them but am open to salon stuff if I know what to ask for

Use castor oil on them every night (without fail) and go to see an eyebrow specialist about growing them back. There is a way, it just takes time and patience!

FourTurnings · 02/05/2021 22:14

workyticket I feel your pain. I have the same problem. I don’t know what to ask for at a salon and would be terrified of emerging with dramatic brows like a reality TV star.

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 02/05/2021 22:25

I’ve been using rapid roe for 5 weeks now and I actually have suddenly got actual brows - I actually had them tinted this week for the first time in my life! It’s AMAZING stuff!

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 02/05/2021 22:26

Rapid BROW - wtf is up with my phone tonight!

Workyticket · 02/05/2021 22:31

Glad it's a 'thing' and not just me!

I'm getting married hopefully in July and would love better brows... should have started way before now!

Micro blading it's called, it's changed my life. I have completely fair eyebrows and I had it done and it was a big shock but I love it now. They locked huge when I first had them, despite me approving the drawn on shape pre blading. But they are so much darker when first done, it's a big change and they sort of shrink. It's semi perm. You could just have the gaps filled.

suddengate · 02/05/2021 22:41

I second microblading, but if you're not ready to take the leap yet you could try HD brows? They manage to somehow create a full brow out of nothing!!

tv86 · 02/05/2021 22:43

I'm the same with my brows! Draw them on everyday and keep saying I'm going to get something done with them- I shaved mine when I was younger and one side has never grown back properly. I've thought about micro blading but too scared theyl be really big and il be stuck with them for months. a friend said she gets hers laminated? and something else, can't remember what- I'm too scared to walk in a Salam and have no idea what I'm asking for

getyourfreakon · 02/05/2021 22:46

I had nothing to work with so was drawing on as best I could. Microblading gave me starting points at the very least. That was years ago and though they've faded significantly I'm able to use long lasting liquid eyeliner to paint them on every day damn near symmetrical. Go for what's best for you, but it won't last forever.

Workyticket · 08/05/2021 20:36

I've been researching over the last couple of days! Not sure I'm ready for microblading but think I'm going to book a HD brows appointment!

I use Vaseline on my brows and lashes and that helps tremendously.

I also dye my eyebrows which is very easy and the dye picks up the tiny hairs that are almost invisible to the naked eye and the result is very full looking eyebrows that look natural.

ParisEncore · 08/05/2021 22:20

I'm thinking of microblading for my very fair brows, but am also a bit terrified! When I get them tinted, I hate them for the first few days and DH looks positively alarmed when I come home with them. So probably not for me...yet.

QueenPaw · 08/05/2021 22:23

Mine are micropigmentation, I have v pale brows and I'm so pleased with them

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 08/05/2021 22:23

Mine have been eaten by moths.

Before and straight after
Second pic is 4 years later with some brow gel on (I like to apply it to tint the hairs if that makes sense?) but I can happily go without it

Gosh QueenPaw yours are perfect ! You look beautiful

Faevern · 08/05/2021 22:38

I would love micro blading but I’m too soft so I use Lancôme brow define so I can draw tiny lines but I also have mine tinted, what’s left of them, and I think that helps with shaping.

shetlandponies · 08/05/2021 23:25

I am a semi permanent make up and microblading artist, And also had them done myself as after years
of over plucking in the 90s my real brows were almost non existent. I hated having to draw them on every day and it just never looks as good as natural eyebrows. I specialise in doing very natural hair stroke brows in shades that work with the particular clients colouring.

I may be biased but I honestly can't recommend it enough. Done well, (like the lady's above who are amazing.) they can absolutely transform faces for the better and look so natural. If you want any more advice please feel free to pm me.

Fastforwardtospring · 08/05/2021 23:33

@QueenPaw they look fabulous!
@shetlandponies -where are you based, I would love to have mine done but frightened of
looking like an angry bird.

shetlandponies · 08/05/2021 23:56

@Fastforwardtospring

Lol at "angry bird" no that would definitely not be a good look 😂 a good brow artist will spend a long time measuring your face and your facial features with callipers and a brow pencil to work out your optimum eyebrow shape. This should actually be the longest part of the process and is crucially important for getting the most flattering and accurate shape. I personally then pencil in where the brows should be based on all these measurements and show the client.
and only when clients are completely happy with the brow shape I've drawn would I start tattooing. Prior to tattooing I also go round the border with a surgical marker to make sure I'm working within that shape.

I am based in the Midlands.

I'm not looking at the eyebrows. Your eyes are so beautiful. (sorry. Sounds creepy!)
QueenPaw · 09/05/2021 00:11

@PickAChew Grin in RL I have small hooded eyes, they're not very., stand out!

Stichintime · 09/05/2021 00:16

Reading with interest. I bit the bullet and had microblading on Tuesday. They look no where near natural yet, they're way too dark. I'm hoping they continue to lighten up. The shape is great, a massive improvement.

shetlandponies · 09/05/2021 00:24

@Stichintime Fear not ! This is totally normal and They will almost certainly lighten a lot over the next few days.

takemetothelakes · 09/05/2021 06:24

Try lamination, it's temporary (6-8 weeks) but looks amazing. Make sure you go to someone experienced and has before and after shots on their website/Facebook.
