Biker boots - help

midnightstar66 · 27/04/2021 21:16

Looking for boots like these but in leather. £50 for non leather boots is a bit pricey imo, plus reviews not great, but would happily pay more for really leather and quality and more importantly comfort as it's mostly for work and im on my feet all day.

I have the Dune Prestone boots www.dunelondon.com/prestone-cleated-sole-laceup-hiker-boot-black-0092501020013484/

They rubbed on my ankles initially but are really comfy now, could walk all day in them. They are pricy but I reckon going into the summer you’ll find boots going into the sales so will get a bargain somewhere!

I have these and they are beautifully soft leather.

EllaPaella · 01/05/2021 08:11

The trend at the moment is for hiking boots so I suspect that is deliberate with those Sorel boots.

midnightstar66 · 01/05/2021 08:24

@EllaPaella agree re the trend but I worry due to that they will look dated after a while. For £160 I think I'd like something a bit more timeless although I do really like them.

Like you say you could change the laces, they are a lovely pair of boots for sure.

Oh weird - something wrong with that link! Will as MNHQ to investigate, as that isn't the page I linked to at all.

Will try again.

NoSiree · 01/05/2021 10:33

Clarks - Witcombe Hi 2 Black Leather

Trying again!

These are the ones I have and I love them. They are plain enough to be classic imo. Some bad reviews on there, but mine are fab.

NoSiree · 01/05/2021 10:33

That one seems to work fine Smile

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 01/05/2021 10:37

I have Whistles Asha boots & I adore them
I plan on wearing them again next autumn / winter

NoSiree · 01/05/2021 10:52

I was eyeing the Whistles Asher boots when I bought mine! It was just the price put me off a wee bit. I was pleasantly surprised with the Clark's ones though. They are under £50, leather, and have honestly been fab. The Whistles ones are beautiful though.

UnreasonablyPissedOff · 01/05/2021 11:10

@NoSiree they're a bit steep alright. I bought them when there was a 20% discount.
I love the Clarks ones too, they're very similar. I've had lots of Clarks boots over the years & found then very comfortable

NoSiree · 01/05/2021 11:15

I think they are similar. The Whistles ones have a little something extra I think. So, I think, if you wanted a classic, non hiking style and you were happy to spend a bit more, I'd go with the Whistles Ashers. They are gorgeous. But the Clark's are a good compromise on price while being pretty similar.

midnightstar66 · 01/05/2021 11:25

I'm looking for something just a bit chunkier (but not too chunky) than the whistles and Clark's and I'm not keen on the top eyelets. Arrggh im nearly giving up or just buying the over priced non leather ones 😩😆

I came on thinking the thread would be about the zip side bikers with buckles, as that's what I'm after.

However, now I like the Dune lace ups listed above 😃.

pinkypink24 · 01/05/2021 11:38

Carvela have loads of boots biker style. I bought a pair, really comfy & great quality although not cheap.

Not sure if it's a little too obvious, but have you tried DMs?

Campervan69 · 01/05/2021 12:32

Thanks @pinkypink24

Now I'm spoilt for choice!

gnatgnu · 01/05/2021 14:12

@albird - thanks so much for White Co link, I don’t (or should I say didn’t) even need boots but have ordered these, they look fab!!

Dugee · 03/05/2021 23:23

There are some great ideas on here. Thanks all.

midnightstar66 · 17/05/2021 04:59

Update, I went with these Ugg boots in the end. I was reluctant as on some websites they were described as being PU not leather but on receiving them turns out they are coated leather. Not quite as comfy as I'd hoped so I've not worn them for work yet. They maybe need breaking in a little, but I love them. They don't look as big on as I thought and are surprisingly light
