What size is your 13yo Dd?

My dd is 5ft5 and weighs 9st7.

She’s not fat but is getting wider hips/boobs, she also has chunky thighs (she horse rides).

She is really upset as I bought her a pair of “mom” jeans yesterday in a size 10 (her normal size) and they didn’t do up so I swapped them for a 12.
She had a pair of size 8 snd they were getting abit tight.

She’s a size 8/10 on top.

What size is your dd?

My DD is a similar age and is very small. She wears approx age 10 clothes but can also wear XXS adult clothes in some shops like Hollister. She’s all in proportion but just petite. No idea what she weighs but I suspect about 5 to 5.5 stone and she is below 5ft still. About a year into puberty I would say. She wishes she was bigger!

Please explain to her that mom jeans are unusual as they have no stretch and are very narrow waisted. My mum swapped a pair or size 8 jeans for a size 10 behind my back and I can pin point this exact moment as the trigger for my life time of disordered eating.

Forgot to say mom jeans are, in my opinion, unflattering on anyone except the tall and very slim. Terrible invention! Even though my DD is slim they make her look lumpy and bottom heavy.

@bookmarket hope you saw my other reply! She also has some from boohoo which are a 12 and fit well they're probably a bit less high wasted.

@oohmyback Thank you I did. I ordered a few colours and sizes of the next jeans. We've found Bershka jeans and denim shorts a good size for my wide hipped DD. Also Monki are good for using models of different shapes and sizes.
