QueenofDestruction · 18/04/2021 00:01

53

WingingItSince1973 · 18/04/2021 00:11

Wow op. I would have said 46ish. You're gorgeous. I'm 48 and hope I look as good as you at 52 x

Reinventinganna · 18/04/2021 00:11

You look really good for 52! Shock
Nice hair do (and I really love your attitude).

Banville · 18/04/2021 00:12

I thought 46 too.

I always quake a bit when people post these threads as it can get quite cutting.

Lifeaintalwaysempty · 18/04/2021 00:14

46

LieLikeALoungeroomLizard · 18/04/2021 00:17

I would guess 55 ish

guessmyageplease · 18/04/2021 01:07

@HeadBeeGuy where did I say they were making guesses I didn't like?

I was looking for opinions on my age, high, low, correct, whatever. All opinions appreciated too. Unpleasant comments were unnecessary but perhaps it made those that posted them feel better about themselves and if so I'm just happy I don't have to do that kind of thing to gain the same feeling!

@Doghead yes clearly in one of the pictures I was!

@SmidgenofaPigeon as it happens the thread has been complimentary but who is to say that it was going to be? I couldn't have known that.

If it makes you feel better carry on thinking that. I'm not here to persuade you otherwise. I know why I posted this and your interpretation is just that, yours. My reasons are mine and they differ. Let's agree to disagree eh? After all we are both entitled to our opinion, I respect that but I won't tolerate you insisting you are right ok?

@SmidgenofaPigeon

I am confused by the 30’s/late thirties comments. OP does not look like she’s in her thirties- nothing wrong with that, but she doesn’t! I can only think those posters come from places where people have very hard lives and it shows on their faces.
Perhaps you could have commented without disparaging remarks about other posters opinions.

@Soontobe60

Although I fast forwarded to the answer, I did think you were in your mid 40s. You’ve got lovely hair and a friendly face. I am, however, worried that your bird box might fall off the wall if it’s full of chicks in the summer!!!
Hadn't thought of that, it's tied on. I will sort bird box out ASAP thanks!

@LaurieFairyCake

Yep, got it right (feeling smug) Grin

Definitely because I could be your twin and thought you were the same age as me

Were we separated at birth 😉

@Handsoffstrikesagain

Something me and DH we’re discussing tonight though, how/why did women (and men) look so much older years ago than they do now? My mum looks younger now than she did in the 80s. Was it the hairstyles do you think?
Hairstyles and dress too I think. I look back at photos of me in my 20's (80/90's) and I looked like a middle aged woman then. I think it was the perms that contributed!!

guessmyageplease · 18/04/2021 01:24

@Banville I was prepared for that. I don't think you can post a thread like this without being prepared for the good, bad or downright nasty and rude!

True to form the MN vipers were having a slow Saturday so they had somewhere to spew their bile.

Someone recently said to me that if you're the recipient of unpleasant comments or behaviour that nine times out of ten you're not actually the person who caused them to feel like that in the first place. I've found it to be quite true.

You look great OP but is 52 really that ancient ? All the 'omg you're not in your 50s are you ?' As if we are all old hags Confused Most women look after themselves nowadays. A 52 year old from 1970 probably would look her age if not older but nowadays not so much.

Misbeehived · 18/04/2021 09:31

I guessed 45 too - looking good!

adrianmolesmole · 18/04/2021 09:55

45

LadyWithLapdog · 18/04/2021 11:02

As someone who guessed your age as late 30s in the first and closer to your actual age in the others, I can reassure a PP that in my leafy, suburban part of London people are not entirely worn out and aged prematurely. I just thought you looked great 👍

3peassuit · 18/04/2021 11:33

I thought mid 40s. Great skin.

ShrikeAttack · 18/04/2021 11:49

I think you look great OP, you do look your age though, as do the vast majority of people.

AND THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

All these threads do is feed into the idea that it's desirable to look younger. We need to stop venerating youth. It's perfectly possible to be an older woman, to look one's age and to look fantastic.

paisley256 · 18/04/2021 11:58

Me and me fella both thought 44 - wow you're looking great!

user77hjjy · 18/04/2021 12:04

Not sure OP but in the first pic you look like Coleen Nolan.

WhatMattersMost · 18/04/2021 12:07

@guessmyageplease

No make up squinting in the sun!
You look lovely, OP!
