I'm 37 and up until now I've been wearing mine for the past 7 years but totally I had a realisation that they are sioooo popular and not awfully unique so I've taken it off for the foreseeable. Not getting rid of it just putting it away.

So just wondered do ppl here on mn wear one and if so how old are u. Just for fun no judging involved Smile

Mine IS unique. All of the charms have meaning to me. Most were collected while traveling or given to me by family. I don't wear it much now due to lockdown etc., but I treasure it.

Mellonsprite · 17/04/2021 19:23

I have my leather strap one on now, but don’t wear charms on this one.
The charms are on my other one and very meaningful as bought by my children over the years. I don’t care that some people sneer about the being naff.

SisterAgatha · 17/04/2021 19:25

Absolutely not. Never had one.

Doghead · 17/04/2021 19:53

I think the charm versions are chavvy tbh. I have a simple chain/diamanté Pandora bracelet that my friend bought me and I love it

wheresmymojo · 17/04/2021 20:04

@idontlikealdi

No. I have an irrational dislike of them. But like all the Tiffany stuff around 20 years ago.

Am 38. No for the same reason as this.

aneres · 17/04/2021 20:18

I have a Reflexions one with just one charm on.

SneezyGonzalez · 17/04/2021 23:07

I’ve always thought they were a bit naff tbh - and those charms are so expensive for what they are!

JaceLancs · 17/04/2021 23:14

I had 2 in the day a leather one and a bracelet but I don’t wear silver so mine were gold and the charms were way too expensive
I started to get irritated by the clattering whilst typing at work so stopped wearing them
A few years ago I sold them as I thought they were losing popularity and didn’t want to take a big hit

DD has 3 and a bangle all different colour themed but I think the memories are more important to her than they were to me

SpilltheTea · 17/04/2021 23:15

I don't generally wear bracelets, but pandora has never appealed to me. I don't really like the charms and they seem overpriced. Why would you not wear something because it's popular? Who cares?

earsup · 17/04/2021 23:29

gosh no...cheap nickel plated tat !

Viviennemary · 17/04/2021 23:32

No. Because I'm not a teenager.

VienneseWhirligig · 17/04/2021 23:33

I have a bangle, all the charms on it have a special meaning (one from every country I've visited since having it, one for each anniversary until DH died, I change the charms around every now and then because I have too many for the bangle. I don't care what anyone else thinks.

Ikeameatballs · 17/04/2021 23:35

No. I do however have a Nomination bracelet which I wear every day. Dd bought it for me as a present and at first I wasn’t sure if it was “me” but I like that it’s flat to my wrist rather than dangling and I have 5 personal links and the rest are plain. I do find it quite hard to find links that are to my taste but there are a wide range and I really like the ones I have chosen. Pandora has no appeal to me due to the style of the bracelet/charms which perceive to be a bit fussy/dangly.

MissTrip82 · 18/04/2021 06:20

No, but I don’t really know what they look like to know if I’d like them or not. So there will be people who will have no idea of it’s a Pandora one or just any other bracelet. I wouldn’t not wear it because it’s popular, any jewellery can have a lot of sentimental value even if others own similar pieces.

Providora · 18/04/2021 07:31

I'm late 40s and have a triple leather strap in pink - a breast cancer fundraiser special edition which all the women in my family bought when my aunt was diagnosed. I wear it when it suits my outfit, never with charms on it.

I also have 2 traditional charm bracelets; one from childhood and a world travel one which is effectively my bucket list... one destination left to go!

Hazelnutlatteplease · 18/04/2021 07:53

Yes I have a Pandora Disney bracelet I wear constantly. Partly because I love Disney and it's the best quality Disney Jewellery around so I cant destroy it in five seconds flat. But Mainly though because it means something to me

No its definitely not unique but most the charms mean something special to me. For Example I bought a peter pan charm to commemorate when DS was finally correctly diagnosed after 6 years of real suffering for the whole family. He was diagnosed at GOSH which is historically connected with Peter Pan and frankly it did take a lot of faith (in my own instincts ) trust (in the right doctors after others had badly let us down) and pixie dust to get there. Lots of people have that charm, but it most likely will mean something different to them. I knew I was going to buy that specific one while looking at the peter pan fountain at the entrance to GOSH.

I dont care if the bracelet is naff, I loves it anyway.

Bluesheep8 · 18/04/2021 08:06

No. Because I'm not a teenager.

Eh? Is there an age limit on jewellery now? Confused

DustySpringboard · 18/04/2021 08:13

I stopped wearing mine when I read on MN (years ago) how naff/trashy/common blah blah blah they are

Dh bought it for me not long after they were released in the UK (& became hugely popular) and the dc’s all chose various charms over the years-some really weird and random so it has tremendous sentimental value.

So, the upshot is I’ve decided to take it out of retirement and wear it and detractors be damned🤣

Jowak1 · 18/04/2021 08:16

I have a few different Pandora brackets with charms on all meaning different things and bought at different stages of life. I'm 42 and personally if I like something I will wear it I'm not bothered what anyone else says or how many other people wear them. Too many people are bothered by what everyone else thinks/ says ( I used to be years ago) but as you grow older you realise what's important and I don't care what other people think now. You like it you wear it Smile

Jowak1 · 18/04/2021 08:16

Braclets

Rockbird · 18/04/2021 08:19

I lost mine Sad and have a new one which I'm slowly rebuilding but I've stopped wearing it for work as I'm office based and it bashes onto the desk all the time and drives me crazy! So it's an outside work bracelet and considering I don't go anywhere worth putting it on, it doesn't get a lot of use at the moment!

user1494055864 · 18/04/2021 08:57

I got given one for my 30th, and a couple of charms including the birthday cake one, but I have ridiculously tiny wrists and it was just too uncomfortable and clunky to wear.
I have gradually changed the charms over the years to dainty ones that I actually like, but then I got worried about losing it, as the bangles had a reputation for falling undone, and I was always seeing 'lost' adverts for them. It's been sat in a drawer for about 18 years now, but after seeing this thread yesterday, I might actually start wearing it.

user1494055864 · 18/04/2021 08:58

**Birthday present, not cake

SusannaMorvern · 18/04/2021 09:01

I have leather Trollbeads bracelets, blue, black and brown with silver charms. I love them, but don't wear them as often as I would because they are so difficult to fasten on my own.
I do wear Pandora rings most of the time.

Hazelnutlatteplease · 18/04/2021 09:06

@user1494055864 you need a safety chain it catches the two ends so it remains a loop if the clasp comes undone. It was the first thing I got for mine cos I break and fiddle with clasps regularly.
